Liberated in the expanse of emptiness. Explaining increases the wisdom of oneself and others. Listening causes the lotus of intelligence to bloom. Seeing exhausts the obscurations of afflictions. Contemplating attains the enlightenment of the path of liberation. Thus, it is said to be well adorned with a vast collection of immeasurable qualities. Second, explaining the actual subject matter, there are three parts: the common outer preliminaries, the uncommon inner preliminaries, and the instructions on the path of approach, which are the limbs of the actual practice. First, the common outer preliminaries include six topics: the difficulty of finding leisure and fortune, impermanence of life, suffering of samsara, the law of karma, the benefits of liberation, and reliance on a spiritual friend. First, the difficulty of finding leisure and fortune includes four considerations: contemplating the essence of leisure, contemplating the qualities of fortune, contemplating the examples of rarity, and contemplating the differences in number. First, contemplating the essence of leisure: As it says in Resting the Mind in its Natural State: "I am not born in hells or among the pretas, nor among animals, long-lived gods, border regions, wrong views, or mutes devoid of the Buddha. I have completely transcended these eight states of no leisure." Thus, if one is born in the three lower realms of hell, pretas, or animals, one is distracted by suffering and the body is not at leisure. A mute person does not have the ability to communicate the meaning of words, so speech is not at leisure. Because they do not have the awareness to practice hearing and contemplating the Dharma, long-lived gods are not at leisure. Although they have awareness, they are born in a dark age because they do not have the light of the Dharma where the Buddha is not present, and are not at leisure. Although there is light, borderlanders do not have the intelligence to enter it and are not at leisure. Although they want to enter it, those with wrong views fall into the extreme of exaggeration and are not at leisure. These four are the non-leisure of the mind. Therefore, they do not have a basis or opportunity to practice the Dharma. Among them, the three lower realms and the long-lived gods are the non-leisure of non-humans, and the other four are the non-leisure of humans. Thus, not being born in those eight states of non-leisure is perfect leisure. The term "long-lived gods" refers to the result of meditating on samadhi without awareness, which is the habit of meditating by blocking the consciousness of the six aggregates on the basis of the non-conceptual alaya. Here, it is not the same as cessation because the defiled mind is not blocked. Ordinary beings enter here, but noble ones do not, while in cessation, noble ones enter,

Other beings are not allowed to enter. Śrāvaka and Pratyekabuddha Āryas enter into samadhi for the sake of dwelling in bliss, and Bodhisattva Āryas enter into samadhi for the sake of practicing in samadhi. The abode of that deity is: it exists in the form of a deity's abode with abundant fruits, towns, and monasteries. Secondly, contemplating the special endowments, there are five self-endowments and five other-endowments. Firstly, the five self-endowments are: as the Protector Nāgārjuna said, "Human birth, born in the center, senses complete, not turned to extreme actions, faith in the place." Like this, obtaining a human body as the basis of Dharma, being born in the central region where the Dharma flourishes, possessing the five senses complete as the basis of hearing and thinking, not turned to extreme actions, and having faith in the basis of the teachings. These five are included in one's own continuum and are conditions for practicing Dharma, so they are called self-endowments. Secondly, the five other-endowments are: as it is said, "Buddha appeared and taught the Dharma, the teachings abide and follow him, loving others from the heart." Like this, the teacher Buddha appeared in the world, he taught the supreme Dharma, the abiding of the teachings is complete, entering its door, being seized by the favorable spiritual friend. These five are included in the continuum of others and are conditions for practicing Dharma, so they are called other-endowments. "Loving others" refers to the fact that for those who practice Dharma, others lovingly provide favorable conditions such as food and clothing. Among them, "leisure" is the essence of leisure and endowment, and "endowment" is its special quality. It is also said that "separation and union" are the essence of leisure and endowment. From the aspect of "separation" it is "leisure," and from the aspect of "union" it is "endowment," that is, there are no adverse conditions, so it is "leisure," and possessing favorable conditions, so it is "endowment." Therefore, obtaining this body with eighteen complete leisures and endowments is difficult, so now we must strive to practice Dharma, and we should focus our minds on this. As the Bodhicaryāvatāra says, "Having obtained such a leisure and endowment, if I do not practice virtuous deeds, then there is no greater deception than this, and there is no greater delusion than this." As it is said. Furthermore, there are eight situations of not having leisure due to sudden circumstances, and eight situations of not having leisure due to a distracted mind. Firstly, the eight states of not having leisure due to sudden circumstances
