Profound is the practice of going forth and abiding in Suchness. In abiding, there is no duality of subject and object, hence it is profound. Although there is no movement of characteristics and non-characteristics, the Bodhisattva does not attain enlightenment until the Dharma of the Buddha is complete. This is said to be the profoundness of the Bodhisattva's skillful means. Thus, the profound nature of reality, such as arising and ceasing, is like a dream, transcending the mind that clings to reality. Therefore, this profoundness is shown here. Ninth, the Samadhi of Equality of Samsara and Nirvana: The Bodhisattva who is without difference between wakefulness and dream sees all phenomena included in Samsara and Nirvana as unreal dreams. Not thinking of the reality of Samsara and Nirvana as different is the equality of Samsara and Nirvana. If all phenomena are like dreams, then there is no karma, no practice of Prajnaparamita, and no dedication to Bodhi. The answer to this objection is: As stated in the Sutra, if Shariputra thinks of it as real, then the questions are also the same. Tenth, the Bodhisattva who realizes the equality of Samsara and Nirvana cultivates the pure and unsurpassed Buddha-field to achieve Buddhahood: When the Bodhisattva practices the six perfections, he sees the impure faults such as stinginess, and the impure world of beings with various sufferings such as poverty and misery from enjoying the fruits. Likewise, seeing the outer world made of impure causes, full of distractions such as gold and silver, and impure faults such as stumps, he cannot bear it. In order to make his own Buddha-field free from these faults of the outer and inner world, he cultivates purity. In order to make his own Buddha-field free from the faults of the inner world, and to be fully endowed with qualities such as clairvoyance, and to make the outer world based on blue beryl, flat as a palm, covered with gold powder, boundless in extent, like Sukhavati, etc. Therefore, by practicing the six perfections, one will achieve the unsurpassed purity of one's own Buddha-field. Explaining the Skillful Means that Pervade All Now, secondly, from the initial meditation to the ultimate meditation on Samsara and Nirvana, the essence of the Bodhisattva's skillful means, which pervades the body of this combination of practices, is the wisdom of knowing that the basis is Prajnaparamita. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The third is being skilled in the realm of emptiness, and combining and practicing the yoga of profound Prajñāpāramitā with skillful means; like a hero destroying enemies and liberating relatives from the wilderness, this is the skillful means of transcending the enemies of compassion and peace, and the enemies of existence of wisdom; like shooting an arrow at a target, although acting in the emptiness of phenomena, one does not stop because of it, this is skillful means; like shooting an arrow as one wishes, one does not manifest the ultimate until the roots of virtue are mature, and manifests it when they are mature, this is skillful means. Like learning the correct ultimate with the power of extreme habituation and wisdom, but not abandoning sentient beings because of compassion, and not falling into quiescence, this is the skillful means of the characteristic that is not common to Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas; the skillful means of not being attached to the self of a person and the four inversions; the skillful means of not being attached to the self of a person and the self of phenomena, or realizing emptiness; the skillful means of exhausting the characteristics of male and female, aggregates, etc.; the skillful means of exhausting the aspirations of delighting in Indra and other gods; with the Bodhisattva of skillful means, not despising practitioners who have not been predicted to become Buddhas, this is showing skillful means; the skillful means of knowing the immeasurable differences of prediction and non-prediction, non-retrogression, etc. Thus, the ten skillful means are the wisdom of knowing the nature of perfect union, the mixture, which is the equality of Nirvāṇa and Saṃsāra. Explanation of the Fourth Chapter Next, a detailed explanation of the branches of yoga that have reached the peak. Second, the correct explanation of the thing that has reached the peak, which is Prajñāpāramitā. Among them, the signs of reaching the peak, the increase of its merits, the mind of not abandoning the benefit of sentient beings, the samādhi with many merits is the dwelling place of the mind, the antidotes to what is abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, the result of this path's function is the exhaustion of the conceptual thoughts to be abandoned, and the clarification of the function of this path and the reverse cultivation of the uninterrupted path, etc., are explained in seven aspects. First, there are twelve aspects to this: the Bodhisattva who has attained the peak not only sees all dharmas as dreams when awake, but also sees all dharmas as dreams even in dreams.
