The transformation is an immeasurable retinue, completely without weariness; the minds of Śrāvakas (hearers) and Pratyekabuddhas (solitary realizers) are harmed because they abide in being ashamed and having scruples, these belong to the nature of non-arrogance, having five aspects. The fourth is twelve kinds of purity, far surpassing the realms of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas: dwelling in the forest, not desiring unsurpassed Bodhi (enlightenment) is having few desires; even if one obtains omniscience, not being arrogant is contentment; the patience of definitely generating faith in the profound Dharma is practicing the correct conduct; not abandoning the training in whatever one learns is not abandoning the training; not generating desire is denouncing the faults of desires; not having manifest fabrication for all Dharmas is the mind of Nirvana; not clinging to inner and outer Dharmas is abandoning all possessions; not associating the mind with those who abide in consciousness is not being discouraged; not attending to all things is not having attachment to all things. Like this, through ten kinds of purity. The fifth Bhumi (stage) is attained by abandoning ten things: for example, being born miraculously, shaving the head, wearing monastic robes is abandoning association with householders; one should not generate such a miserly thought, thinking that these beings will become the cause of my merit and happiness, this is abandoning attachment to one's own home, which is abandoning miserliness; the minds of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas are noisy, abandoning the place of birth there; not correctly seeing inner and outer Dharmas is praising oneself in sequence; not correctly seeing outer Dharmas is belittling others, which is abandoning slander; actions such as killing, if they obstruct even the happy realms, what need is there to mention the noble path and Bodhi? This is abandoning the ten paths of unwholesome actions; not seeing any Dharma that generates arrogance and conceit is abandoning arrogance; abandoning conceit; not fixating on things is abandoning perversion; abandoning bad wisdom, which is abandoning doubt; not seeing the nature of the three poisons is enduring afflictions, which is abandoning letting go at will. Like this, by abandoning the ten things to be abandoned mentioned above, one can truly attain the fifth Bhumi. The sixth Bhumi is: how many antidotes are accomplished, and how completely abandoning the things to be abandoned, can one attain the sixth Bhumi? Accomplishing six antidotes, abandoning six things to be abandoned. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Therefore, it can be attained (the seventh Bhumi). The Dharma for perfecting the antidote is the six Paramitas (perfections). Because it is not the path to Bodhi, one should abandon the mind that delights in the Shravaka (Disciples who hear the teachings); because it is not the path to Bodhi, one should abandon the Bodhisattva who delights in the Pratyekabuddha (Solitary Realizer); because it is not the path to Bodhi, one should abandon the mind that fears benefiting others; because it is not the mind of Bodhi, one's mind is not discouraged when beggars come to beg; because it is not the path to Bodhi, even if one gives away all possessions, one's mind is not unhappy; even if one is poor oneself, one does not abandon beggars. After generating the initial Bodhicitta, one gives charity intensely, and because one does not regard sentient beings as sentient beings, one realizes the six Bhumis and attains true accomplishment. The seventh Bhumi has two parts: how to abandon faults and how to perfect qualities. The first part has twenty aspects: one should not cling to 'I' and sentient beings, one should not cling to life, one should not cling to the Pudgala (person), because 'I' and those others have no real basis. One should not cling to nihilism or eternalism, because any Dharma does not arise, therefore it will not become permanent or annihilated. One should not have the perception of signs, because all afflictions have no real basis. One should not regard it as a cause, because that view is not seen as it truly is. One should not cling to the Skandhas (aggregates), Dhatus (elements), and Ayatanas (sense bases), because those Dharmas are empty by nature. One should not abide and be attached by clinging to the three realms, because those have no substance. The mind should not be discouraged and lazy, because all imputed phenomena, such as form, etc., their self-nature is empty, and the emptiness of the perfectly established nature (Parinispanna) is not empty. One should not cling to the view of observing the Three Jewels as real, because in that way one cannot see the Three Jewels, one should not cling to observing the reality of the Three Jewels, because it is the vision of non-objective wisdom. One should not cling to observing the precepts. One should not argue that 'all Dharmas are emptiness' contradicts 'the characteristic of emptiness,' and cut off the fault that all Dharmas are emptiness contradicts the characteristic of emptiness. Thus, these twenty are the causes for a Bodhisattva of the seventh Bhumi to cut off all obstacles, thereby attaining the distant seventh Bhumi. The second part, the way to perfect qualities, has twenty aspects: the entity of emptiness with entity... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
