Second, from the perspective of stages, there are four: the small, medium, and large accumulations of the accumulation path; the generation of mind that is practiced with devotion on the path of joining; the generation of mind that is endowed with higher intention from the first to the seventh bhumis; the generation of mind that is fully ripened from the eighth to the tenth bhumis; and the generation of mind that has abandoned obscurations on the Buddha bhumi. Third, from the perspective of characteristics, there are two: conventional and ultimate bodhicitta. Conventional bodhicitta is the vow to liberate all sentient beings from samsara with great compassion. Ultimate bodhicitta is that which is free from the extremes of elaboration and is extremely clear, the stainless one that has the ultimate as its object. As the venerable and precious lord said: "The root of the essence is, emptiness and clarity inseparable, not falling to extremes, in the natural state of bliss free from elaboration. The view is great, free from extremes. Awareness, together with its intensity, is like that of great bodhi." And in the chapter on limbs it says: "The true meaning is beyond the mind." Thus it is said. Therefore, conventional bodhicitta is coarse and arises from symbols, so it is attained by taking it correctly. Ultimate bodhicitta is attained by the power of meditating on the nature of reality, and it is present in the mindstream from the first bhumi onwards, and there is also the occasion for taking it. To summarize conventional bodhicitta, the two, aspiration and engagement, include those three distinctions. Among them, aspiration is the desire to attain perfect Buddhahood, and engagement is learning the practices for accomplishing Buddhahood. Also, aspiration is the vow to attain Buddhahood for the sake of sentient beings. Engagement is the vow to train in the six perfections. There are two traditions. Fourth, the characteristics of the individual are: not like a Hearer or Solitary Realizer, but having faith in the Great Vehicle and great intelligence, being free from doubt in the teacher and the Three Jewels and having entered under refuge, turning away from inferior teachings and possessing natural peace and gentleness. Fifth, the object of taking the generation of mind is: a lama who does not neglect all the precepts, does not seek his own benefit even for a moment, and has loving-kindness and compassion for the Great Vehicle bodhicitta. Sixth, the ritual is known elsewhere. Seventh, the benefits are: being superior to Hearers and Solitary Realizers, entering the ranks of the Great Vehicle, cutting off all afflictions and defilements from the root, opening

All virtuous actions of the three doors will become the cause of meaningfulness. Accumulate vast merit and virtue, and all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will regard you as a noble son, everyone will cherish and love you like a child, and you will always be inseparable from the Mahayana Dharma, etc. In short, attaining all the qualities of the Buddha, quickly attaining Buddhahood, etc., the merits are immeasurable. The eighth is the reason: If you say why you should do it for sentient beings other than yourself, it is not so, because they are the parents of many lifetimes. In this way, the conventional Bodhicitta is coarse and arises from appearance, so it is obtained by receiving it properly and truthfully. The ultimate Bodhicitta is obtained through the power of meditating on the nature of reality, and it exists in the mind stream of the first bhumi and above, and there is also a time to receive it. To summarize the conventional Bodhicitta, the two, aspiration and engagement, include those three categories. Among them, aspiration is the desire to attain perfect Buddhahood, and engagement is learning the methods of practice to attain Buddhahood. Also, aspiration is "For the benefit of sentient beings, I must attain Buddhahood," which is a commitment to the result. Engagement is "I must learn the six perfections," which is a commitment to the cause. There are two different views. The fourth is the characteristic of the person: not like a Shravaka or Pratyekabuddha, but having faith in the Mahayana and having great wisdom. Having no doubt about the teacher and the Three Jewels, and having entered into refuge. Generating aversion to inferior dharmas, and possessing the tranquility and gentleness of nature. The fifth is the object of taking Bodhicitta: not abandoning all that should be learned, not even for a moment seeking one's own benefit, but a teacher with Mahayana Bodhicitta, loving-kindness, and compassion. The sixth is the ritual, which can be understood elsewhere. The seventh is the benefit: surpassing Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, entering the ranks of the Mahayana, cutting off all afflictions and obscurations from the root, all virtuous actions of the three doors will become the cause of meaningfulness.
