Wishing to attain enlightenment for the sake of others, and also desiring to attain unsurpassed enlightenment for the sake of all those beings, although wanting to do so, due to their respective bad karma and obstacles, diseases and demons, etc., will arise, so pray for these to be pacified. However, do not pray from the heart, nor say with your mouth, "For my own happiness, and so that I do not suffer from illness and suffering, etc., please bless me." At that time, relying on the compassion of the Three Jewels, the blessings of the virtuous deeds of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and the power of great loving-kindness for the benefit of others, the four maras, which are dharmas, cannot be severed, because the cutter cannot pile up the corpse food again. Also, Pray in front of the Three Jewels, wishing that the four hundred and four types of diseases of these guests, such as karmic creditors and the six realms of beings, may be pacified. If someone wants to know whether there are diseases and demons in the formless realm of gods and demons, the answer is yes. For example, when the chief of the Five Long-Life Sisters became ill, the venerable Milarepa performed empowerment and rituals, thereby obtaining benefit. This is entirely for the benefit of others. In the profound meaning, it is said: If you want to know everything, you must take refuge and pray. Having supreme bodhicitta is the path for beings to attain liberation. Therefore, not for my own sake, but for the benefit of all beings, I must practice this thought of paramita. May beings awaken from non-awakening, be liberated from non-liberation, and attain enlightenment from not having attained enlightenment. I pray that the gurus, the Three Jewels, the yidams, the heroes, and the dakinis will bless me and others. I pray that all adverse conditions, obstacles, demons, hindrances, enemies, ghosts, diseases, sufferings, etc., will be blessed to become aids to attaining enlightenment. I pray that you will bless me to be able to treat happiness and suffering equally. I pray that you will bless me to let go of attachment to the body. I pray that you will bless me to reach the edge of Chöd. I pray that you will bless me to rely on transforming adverse conditions and obstacles into the path, and to attain the perfect and complete enlightenment in this life. Recite these words and pray in your heart: Please do not let me suffer harm from diseases, adverse conditions, demons, hindrances, ghosts, etc. Please protect me! Please save me!
