Sung. In summary, theft, robbery, and highway robbery, praising words. Offerings received from others and doing business are the eight fundamentals. Begging, profiting, and transforming inability, the telling of wealth and desires are the seven consequentials. Abandon acquiring the wealth of others through these fifteen. Thus it is said. The fourth part has two: the fundamental and the consequential. The first part has seven: wanting to be very beautiful oneself, applying good-smelling fragrance to the body, applying scented oil after bathing, wearing good-smelling fragrance. Wearing precious ornaments, wearing various ornaments on clothes of various colors, not one's usual demeanor, being very attentive to one's walking posture, and being very dignified in the lotus position and body posture, these seven are the fundamentals. The second is: not at the time of teaching the Dharma, sitting on a Dharma seat higher than twelve fingers, using very fine cushions such as silk, changing the tone of speech, speaking in a peaceful and dignified manner, dancing and singing and playing football to move the body, operating machinery, wearing very revealing clothes, claiming to have qualities of realization when one does not, these eight are the consequentials. Do not strive and exert effort when the conditions are not present. If you do, it is a hypocritical act of wanting to appear beautiful, and the fault is great. It contradicts my vows and is a cause for falling into the lower realms, so it should be abandoned, thus it is said. In summary: bathing, applying fragrance, wearing ornaments and clothes, and one's walking posture, the sitting posture, these seven are the fundamentals, playing football, etc., a high seat cushion, dignified speech, singing and dancing, and machinery, claiming to have qualities of realization when one does not, these eight are the consequentials, these fifteen careless behaviors should be abandoned, thus it is said. The fifth part has five: even though one has clothes, ornaments, etc., one deliberately wears very poor clothing, or goes naked, etc., this is due to the times. If done for the sake of others, there is no fault. If it is for oneself, covered with hypocritical clothes, etc., the fault is great. Also, even if it is for the sake of others, not doing what should be done, even if the conditions are present, not doing good deeds, but doing very bad deeds, claiming not to have qualities of realization when one does, disregarding others, and doing other actions that would be strongly condemned by others. If you do this, it is also hypocrisy and pretense, so it should be abandoned, thus it is said. In summary: clothes, ornaments, nakedness

Abandoning actions for the sake of others, abandoning evil deeds, concealing merits, and belittling oneself. Thus. These four roots, and the seventy-five branches that arise from them, are the objects of protection for the body. Fourth, guarding the gate of speech, there are the main practice and the corresponding practices. The second is, when it is not the time to teach the Dharma, sitting on a throne higher than twelve fingers, and cushions made of silk and other materials that are too luxurious, and changing the tone of speech, speaking in a peaceful and dignified manner, and dancing, singing, and playing football, which involve physical movements, and making machines, and wearing clothes that are too bright, and claiming to have realized merits when one has not, these eight are corresponding practices. Without the proper circumstances, do not strive and exert effort. If you do, it is hypocrisy in wanting to appear good, and the fault is great. It contradicts my vows and becomes a cause for falling into the lower realms, so it should be abandoned, as it is said. The summary is: bathing, applying perfume, adorning oneself with clothes and walking, the seven ways of sitting are the main practice, playing football, etc., the throne, cushions, dignified speech, singing, dancing, and making machines, the eight qualities of realization are corresponding practices, the fifteen kinds of reckless behavior should be abandoned. Thus. Fifth, there are five: even though one has clothes and ornaments, one makes them very bad, or goes naked, etc., if it is the right time. If it is for the sake of others, there is no fault, but if it is worn for one's own hypocrisy, the fault is great. Also, even if it is for the sake of others, one does not do what should be done, and although one has the proper circumstances, one does not do good deeds, but does very bad deeds, and although one has the merits of realization, one says one does not, and does not care about others, and other such behaviors that are severely condemned by others, if one does them, that is also hypocrisy and pretense, so it should be abandoned. Thus it is said. The summary is: clothes, ornaments, nakedness, abandoning actions for the sake of others, abandoning evil deeds, concealing merits, and belittling oneself. Thus. These four roots, and the seventy-five branches that arise from them, are the objects of protection for the body. Fourth, guarding the gate of speech, there are the main practice and the corresponding practices. First, there are three roots and three branches, the first is: direct perception, miraculous powers, seeing the faces of deities, and prophecies, etc., of realization.
