Therefore, like the great earth, all three types of individuals, great, medium, and small, need this, so it is extremely important, and it is the foundation for all who wish to attain liberation, hence it is called the foundation. Secondly, regarding the ten vows of the path, firstly, even the place of good rebirth is seen as the happiness of samsara, thereby turning the mind away from it and pursuing the self-interest of nirvana. As Magcig said: Even if one obtains the happiness of the heavenly realms, there is the suffering of death, transference, and falling, as well as the suffering of the omens of death, and the suffering of falling into the lower realms, which is immeasurable. Asuras also have the suffering of constantly harming their bodies and lives due to fighting and jealousy. Sixth, Magcig also said: Thus, being afraid of the place of evil rebirths and karma, one turns the mind away from it, and seeing the happy results of gods and humans in good rebirths, one must definitely strive for the causes of being born there, such as the ten virtues and other karmas. In particular, seeing the happiness of the upper realms, one thinks, 'If only I could be born there right now!' One should not be lazy even for a moment in accomplishing the karma of being born there. Until the mind is generated, one should repeatedly contemplate the virtues of good rebirths and abandon distractions. Before a firm conviction arises in virtuous deeds, the virtues of good rebirths must be contemplated once a day, this is the vow. Thus, generating joy in the perfections of gods and humans, this shows that these six are called the practice of the small individual, this is the foundation for attaining Buddhahood, just as the great earth is, all three types of individuals, great, medium, and small, need this, so it is extremely important, and it is the foundation for all who wish to attain liberation, hence it is called the foundation.

Fatigue, heat and cold, and the suffering of holding enemies and friends as dualistic opposites arise; even though there is boundless and abundant enjoyment, the ultimate result of protecting and increasing it is destruction, as well as the suffering of exhaustion, etc.; the opportunity for happiness is only temporary, and ultimately impermanent and empty, so even obtaining human happiness is impermanent, like a wolf obtaining great enjoyment in a dream, or an ugly person obtaining a beautiful appearance in a dream, one should know that it is meaningless. Although obtaining a perfect human body is envied by all beings in the world, the four sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, and death, as well as hunger, thirst, fatigue, heat and cold, and the suffering of holding enemies and friends as dualistic opposites arise; even though there is boundless and abundant enjoyment, the ultimate result of protecting and increasing it is destruction, as well as the suffering of exhaustion, etc.; the opportunity for happiness is only temporary, and ultimately impermanent and empty, so even obtaining human happiness is impermanent, like a wolf obtaining great enjoyment in a dream, or an ugly person obtaining a beautiful appearance in a dream, one should know that it is meaningless. Even the gods have desire realm gods, as well as the twelve gods who obtain the body of meditative absorption and enjoy it in the form realm, as well as the formless realm gods, they each cling to and enjoy their own enjoyment and meditative absorption, without the opportunity for liberation, and ultimately enjoyment and meditative absorption will also be exhausted, and life will end, therefore, the faults of falling into the three lower realms, etc., are also many, in short, no matter how perfect the enjoyment is, it is the suffering of samsara itself, and the only cause of suffering, the happiness of samsara is the nature of impermanent change, happiness and desire will lead to suffering, for example, when afflicted by heat, coolness appears to be happiness, but too much coolness will also become the suffering of coolness, when it is cool, heat appears to be happiness, but too much heat will also become the suffering of heat, therefore, the happiness of the peak of existence is also impermanent, one should know that it is like dew on the tip of a blade of grass. It is also said in the "Six Methods of Severance": Humans have external suffering
