Month. Those twelve months make a year, like that five years. ༄༅། །One hundred is the lifespan of the Four Great Kings. All of that is counted as one day, those thirty days as a month, those twelve months as a year, like that five hundred years is the lifespan of the Reviving Hell. Similarly, one hundred human years, two hundred years, four hundred years, eight hundred years, and one thousand six hundred years are one day in the order from the Thirty-three Heavens to the Others' Emanation Controlling Heaven. Their lifespans are able to last one thousand divine years, two thousand years, four thousand years, eight thousand years, and sixteen thousand years. Those are, according to the order, from the Black Line Hell to the Hot Hell, each day being from one thousand to sixteen thousand of their own years. In the Hot Hell, one can live for half a kalpa, and up to the Avici Hell, one can live for one kalpa. Those are commonly on a ground of burning iron, surrounded by an environment, and the heat of the fire is also seven times our fire. The heat of the kalpa fire, that seven times surpasses the Reviving Hell, and then seven times seven times, the lower it goes, the hotter it gets. Thinking about the suffering of the nearby ones, each of the eight Hot Hells has four walls and four doors. Outside of those, they are surrounded by iron fences, and that fence also has four doors. Each door also has a pit of embers and a swamp of corpses, as well as a swamp of excrement and urine, hair-razor leaves, and so on, and countless rivers. There are sixteen additional hells for sentient beings, four each. The first is entering the embers, submerged up to the knees, all flesh and blood are destroyed, and as soon as the foot is lifted, it is reborn. The second is sinking into the swamp of corpses, inside which sharp-beaked worms pierce, and one smells unpleasant odors. The third is being pierced by razor-sharp hairs, when the foot is placed, it is cut off, and when it is lifted, it is reborn. Those and the adjacent forest of sword-leaf trees, when sitting in the shade, swords fall from the trees, cutting off limbs and being eaten by dogs. In the forest of iron Shalmalas, when climbing up and down the iron thorns that point upwards and downwards, the limbs and branches are all cut off. Birds with iron beaks pluck out the eyeballs and eat them. Those three are counted as one. The fourth is being boiled in a great river.

Upon arriving there, the hell guardians will spit and beat with clubs, asking what is desired. One answers, "Hunger!" Another answers, "Thirst!" Then the suffering of having burning iron balls thrust into the mouth and boiling copper water poured into it. The duration of life depends on whether the karma is exhausted. There are eight cold hells: The Blister Hell, because of extreme cold, the entire body is covered in blisters. The Bursting Blister Hell is where the blisters burst. The Chattering Teeth Hell is also like that. Saying "Kya hud" and "A chu" is the sound emitted from deep within the throat. Like an উৎপལ་ (utpala, 乌 উৎপལ་, utpala, blue lotus): the body cracks into five or six pieces. Like a lotus: the blisters turn red and crack into ten or more pieces.
