. Always dwelling in the swamp of birth and death, using suffering as karma, revolving like a chain of water buckets. Homage to the Guru! Before the ripening of previous karma is exhausted, one accumulates the obscurations of future karma, constantly revolving in samsara. Thus it is said. The limbs of accomplishment and the limbs of completion come without interruption. Quickly, it is completed in two lifetimes. For example, in this lifetime, having been born in the heavens and experienced the results, one newly accumulates karma. The ignorance and action of that karma, and the consciousness at the time of the cause, these three and a half limbs, until death, the three of craving, grasping, and existence are completed. In the next life, the five and a half limbs that are cast, the two limbs of completion are completed. Even if it is slow, it does not exceed three lifetimes. The two of accomplishment and completion, and the three of casting, each require one lifetime. The limbs that are cast are gathered into the limbs of completion. Even if many lifetimes intervene between the casting and the accomplishment, it is the birth of another dependent arising, not the birth of this dependent arising. The duration of the intermediate state is not counted separately in these. The antidote to these is that until wisdom arises on the ground, one repeatedly revolves in samsara in this way. The holy one said: What appears is the Dharmakaya, but oneself, with one's own ignorance, is connected to the twelve limbs such as action, the two of object and sense faculty. Relying on the sign of suffering, desire is connected to the four continents of the human world. Likewise, hatred and so on are connected to hell and so on, reaching the extreme in the three sufferings. Also, Machig said: One will not obtain happiness in a kalpa, always dwelling in the swamp of birth and death, using suffering as karma, revolving like a chain of water buckets. Homage to the Guru! Before the ripening of previous karma is exhausted, one accumulates the obscurations of future karma, constantly revolving in samsara. Thus it is said. Fourth, summarizing the meaning, having well understood all the dependent arisings previously explained, and repeatedly contemplating them, the initial practitioner, recognizing the nature of samsara, generates weariness and turns the mind towards the path of liberation. Thus, for those who are accustomed to this, it becomes a supreme means of awakening the habit of attaining the state of the noble ones. In the past, King Udayana presented a painted image of the Teacher as a gift.

Below the offered (Buddha image), the twelve links of dependent origination were written in the mode of arising and ceasing and presented. When the king saw it, he brought it to mind and contemplated the two modes of dependent origination, like the story of attaining the noble state. Fourth, summarizing the meaning: If one understands well the previously explained dependent origination and contemplates it repeatedly, then the initial practitioner will recognize the characteristics of samsara, thereby generating renunciation and inclining towards the path of liberation. Therefore, for those who are accustomed to this, it is the supreme method for awakening the imprints of attaining the noble state. In the past, below the Buddha image presented as a gift to King Udayana, the twelve links of dependent origination were written in the mode of arising and ceasing and presented. When the king saw it, he brought it to mind and contemplated the two modes of dependent origination, like the story of attaining the noble state. Second, explaining the mode of cessation: 'With the sun and moon of realization, ignorance and wrong thoughts are destroyed.' By combining what is to be abandoned and what abandons, it explains that what is to be abandoned is ignorance and wrong thoughts, and that the destroyer is the sun and moon of realization. This means realizing that the object of attachment of co-emergent ignorance is without self-nature, and becoming accustomed to the wisdom that knows suchness. Therefore, the clinging to the self of persons and the self of phenomena, that is, clinging to 'I' and 'mine,' and the object that is falsely imputed as true in phenomena, the ignorance that arises by grasping as true each difference in the objects of all other afflictions, both co-emergent and imputed, will cease. When this ignorance ceases, the formations of bad migrations arising from ignorance that is deluded about cause and effect, and the meritorious karma that projects into the desire realm arising from ignorance that is deluded about suchness, and the unwavering karma that projects into the higher realms will cease. When these cease, the feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness that connect the continuum in those places, that is, the four aggregates of name and the aggregate of form, will cease. When these cease, the six sense sources of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind will cease. When these cease, the contact that arises from the aggregation of objects such as form, sense powers, and consciousness, and that experiences the three feelings of attachment, aversion, and neutrality towards objects, will cease. When these cease, the feeling that corresponds to the experience of the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality in relation to the three objects will cease. When these cease, feeling...
