Self-appearance arising as demons. Unable to practice, unable to be competent. First, in the mind The cause of arising afflictions is: Not having received the preliminary introduction, therefore not knowing one's own mind as emptiness. Little hearing of the pith instructions, therefore not realizing samsara and nirvana as mind. Little endurance and determination, therefore the Chö practice is half done, And abandoned, ultimately unable to complete it, and so on. Second, the cause of self-appearance arising as demons is: Inner demons and outer demons shaking together. Although there are no demons outside, if there is a mind that grasps at demons inside, then in the realm of the senses All appearances of forms, sounds, etc., give rise to the thought of grasping them as demons. In short, even the movement of leaves by the wind gives rise to the thought of whether it is a demon. For example, the conch shell itself is white in nature, However, a jaundiced person sees it as yellow, this is due to one's own internal fault. These should not only be practiced during fierce times, but also constantly practiced at ordinary times. Thus, no matter what result of happiness or suffering arises, it is due to the infallible karma of good and evil, which are the gods and demons of karma. How to take that onto the path? The best is, because in the unborn state of mind, neither good nor evil is established, therefore the result is also without happiness or suffering, in the vast expanse of mind itself, settle firmly, free from hope and fear, acceptance and rejection. The middling person, examines its essence. The lowest person, analyzes and knows how to take it onto the path. No matter what you do, if it is not exhausted and you are deceived and relapse again, then the order of suppressing relapse is explained. That has three: The cause of relapse, the signs, and the suppression of relapse. The first has three: Afflictions arising in the mind, self-appearance arising as demons, unable to practice, unable to be competent. First, in the mind The cause of arising afflictions is: Not having received the preliminary introduction, therefore not knowing one's own mind as emptiness. Little hearing of the pith instructions, therefore not realizing samsara and nirvana as mind.

arise. For example, a conch shell is inherently white, but someone with jaundice sees it as yellow, which is due to an internal defect. The third reason for not being able to practice or daring to practice is: because of a lack of courage in realization, one cannot go to terrifying places; even if one goes, because one has not let go of attachment to the body, one cannot transform the body into food; because the power of the marrow of cutting is small, one does not dare to mix with adverse conditions, etc. The root tantra says: "Danger is greatest when views are wrong, enemies arise when vows are broken, obstacles are harmful when the mind is confused, and poison arises from clinging to self." Thus it is said. Secondly, the signs of inversion are threefold: outer, inner, and secret. The outer sign is great magical power, the inner sign is what appears in the mind, and the secret sign is what occurs in the body. The first is: in manifestation, experience, or dream, magical phenomena such as those described above appear, and one is very afraid, unable to stay still, and begins to run away. The second is: one regrets coming to the terrifying place to practice cutting, thinking that it would have been better not to have come in the first place, one doubts the guru and the Dharma, one is tired of practice and does not want to do cutting, one is afraid to go to the cutting place and wants to go elsewhere, one is unhappy, restless, as the sun begins to set in the afternoon, consciousness floats upward, shadows are dim, awareness is dazed, dust flies on the ground, one feels fear, one's hair stands on end, one's scalp becomes stiff. One thinks that whether it is a human or a demon, something will suddenly come to grab me, pull me, eat me. One cannot make a sound, cannot cough, cannot eat, cannot sleep, breaks out in a cold sweat, consciousness is low, spirit is weak, etc. These are all signs of being overwhelmed by the power of gods and demons. The root tantra says: "Danger is greatest when views are wrong, enemies arise when vows are broken, obstacles are harmful when the mind is confused, and poison arises from clinging to self."
