It is like this, the Lama's body's demeanor, speech's activity, mind's wisdom, and other qualities are equal to the Buddha's. The essence is the Buddha himself. The Buddha's activities are done by the Lama. Although it is so, we do not see him adorned with marks and signs, and we do not hear his speech as the voice of Brahma. This is because our own obscurations are not purified. For example, a person with tuberculosis tastes bitterness when eating sugar, or a person with eye disease sees a conch shell as yellow. Thinking about the Lama's kindness is that the kindness is even greater than the Buddha's, because all the Buddhas of the three times, past, present, and future, have come, but they have not been able to appear before my eyes. Although there are countless statues cast in molds, written, and carved, they do not speak the Dharma to me directly, but the Lama tells me about the karmic results of good and evil, explains the principle of cause and effect, and introduces the innate wisdom that abides in my own mind. Therefore, I think that the Lama's kindness to me is very great. Therefore, visualize the field of merit above the crown of your head as before, and from the depths of your heart, legs, and bones, with strong devotion, not just saying it with your mouth, but earnestly pray, asking for the grace to pacify obstacles and adverse conditions, asking for the grace to generate realization and wisdom, asking for the accomplishment of complete ability and qualities. After that, dissolve the Lama into yourself, and contemplate the Lama's mind and your own mind, the two are clear and empty without grasping, bliss and emptiness are inseparable, in the state of appearance and emptiness inseparable, merge into one. The mind rests relaxed in the state of non-distraction and great bliss. By doing this, you can generate the realization that you are practicing. Therefore, Dampa Rinpoche said: In the dangerous path of the bardo, there are many thieves of the five poisons. Seek the Lama of Dingri as a guide. The bardo mentioned here is the bardo between ourselves and others that we are currently in. Therefore, under the control of the five poisons of greed, hatred, ignorance, pride, and jealousy, attachment and hatred arise, and the discriminations of demons and gods all arise from one's own mind. If you have sincere respect for the Lama, you can realize non-birth through the power of the Lama. Thinking about the Lama's kindness is that the kindness is even greater than the Buddha's, because all the Buddhas of the three times, past, present, and future, have come, but they have not been able to appear before my eyes. Countless statues cast in molds, written, and carved

Even though (the Guru) dwells in a state of silence, without explicitly teaching the Dharma to me, I think: The Guru has shown me the ripening of good and bad deeds, explained the meaning of cause and effect, and introduced me to the wisdom inherent in my own mind, so his kindness to me is truly great. Therefore, visualize the assembly field above the crown of your head as before, and from the center of your heart, the soles of your feet, and the depths of your bones, with intense devotion, not just saying words, sincerely pray, asking for the grace to pacify obstacles and adverse conditions, asking for the blessings to generate realization and wisdom, asking for the accomplishment of perfect abilities and qualities. After that, dissolve the Guru into yourself, and visualize the Guru's heart and your own mind as two, clear and empty, without grasping or attachment, bliss and emptiness inseparable, appearance and emptiness united, merging into one, and then relax and rest in the state of non-conceptual great bliss. By doing this, the realization of what you are practicing will arise. As Dampa Rinpoche said, "On the dangerous path of the bardo, there are many thieves of the five poisons, seek a Guru as your escort, Dingriwa." The so-called bardo is the bardo in which we are now. In this bardo, due to the influence of the five poisons of desire, hatred, ignorance, pride, and jealousy, various thoughts such as attachment, hatred, demons, and gods arise, and these all arise from our own minds. If we can generate devotion to the Guru, we can, through the Guru's blessing, know that the nature of these thoughts is emptiness. It is also said, "Grasping without deceiving is the supreme Guru, never separate, carry him on your crown, Dingriwa. If the Guru escorts you, you will arrive at the place you desire, to whom do you offer devotion, Dingriwa." It is also said, "If you want blessings to ripen your mind, visualize the Guru as the Buddha." As these teachings say, if we generate devotion to the Guru, the tricks of demons and heretics, as well as the four maras, will naturally dissolve, thereby obtaining the fruit of realization. Machig Labdrön also said, "Therefore, cut the rope of arrogance, even if cutting is not truly cutting, if you can recognize the nature of being separated from the root, it cannot be grasped, and it will surely be liberated in the realm of Dharma. Without making any calculations, repeat the recitation, all unobstructed demons will gather in arrogance. The five poisons and other afflictions, as well as fear of invisible ghosts, and expectations of non-existent gods, and such thoughts, are all produced by arrogance. Arrogance is the mara, and anger is also self-liberated, arrogance is the root of cutting, and it is also the method of liberation, the mara of burning hell.
