Then, receiving instructions to strive to complete practice around a certain year; or, in a certain place, such as a rock, mountain, forest, or water island, receiving instructions to strive to complete practice here before a certain year, and vowing to diligently practice during that time; or, appointing a Dharma master for each of many people, saying, "Until this year or until attaining Buddhahood, listen to the teachings of this teacher! You are not allowed to act independently, and you must act according to the teacher's instructions." And promising and vowing to act accordingly; furthermore, many who listen to the Dharma and practice also make the same vow; or, becoming a universal monarch oneself, creating many laws for worldly affairs for many beings, and applying them to the law, promising and vowing to abide by these laws; or, exercising power over limitless beings, etc., these may appear in experience. In particular, if it appears clearly in a dream, that is the extent of subduing gods and demons. Secondly, the extent of being bound by vows is: becoming a Dharma king oneself, bestowing the precepts of discipline upon many beings, and then, those people promising to accept the vow to uphold the precepts; from now on, until attaining Buddhahood, vowing to avoid harming other beings, striving to do good, and doing as much virtuous work as possible; oneself being placed in a mandala of any kind, outer, inner, or secret, from the state of a deity, receiving empowerment and taking vows, abiding therein, each offering their own life essence and symbols to oneself, and vowing to become one's retinue until samsara is empty; or, being seized by the rope of light from one's own visualization, unable to go anywhere; or, being allowed to enter a beautiful house, and receiving instructions to strive to complete practice around a certain year; or, in a certain place, such as a rock, mountain, forest, or water island, receiving instructions to strive to complete practice here before a certain year, and vowing to diligently practice during that time; or, appointing a Dharma master for each of many people, saying, "Until this year or until attaining Buddhahood, listen to the teachings of this teacher!

谛听。他人无有行事之权，唯有依从上师之教诲而行，并承诺、立誓如是行事；此外，众多听闻佛法、修行之人亦如是立誓；又或者，自己成为转轮圣王，为众多众生创立诸多世间行事之律条并施以刑罚，承诺、立誓守护之；再者，将任何种类的牲畜囚禁于坚固的畜栏之中，使其无有丝毫行动之权；或以枷锁束缚，或以绳索系于他处，使其无有逃脱之权；又或者，委任负责饲养、照料之官吏，由其饲养、照料，使其无有丝毫行动之权等等，诸如此类于觉受或尤其于梦境中确定显现，乃是违越誓言之程度。第三，赐予成就之程度是：众多容貌姣好、装饰华丽之男女，以歌舞等各种供养来供奉自己；此外，毫无吝惜地献上儿女、妻妾、奴仆；以及乡村、城镇，马、牛等各种牲畜；金斗、银斗等各种珍宝，皆非空器，而是盛满外形极其精美、赏心悦目之物；还有各种颜色的新蜡；同样，还有各种丝绸；各种谷物，但非黑豆；以及谷物等各种植物；枝繁叶茂、充满生机、果实累累且色泽鲜艳的新鲜树木；散发着芬芳气味且未腐烂的各种干木；各种树木之花朵与果实；以及生长于陆地与水中的各种颜色之花朵；此外，还有各种颜色的新衣；以及各种带腿的床榻、坐垫与卧具；以及肺、心等内脏，被拿走又被归还；这些被他人供养，以及自己与他人享用这些等等，若于觉受与梦境中显现，乃是赐予成就之程度。第四，驱逐邪魔之程度是：从自己或所观想之对象之身体中，出现戒律、罪恶、青蛙、蛇、鱼

Listen. Others have no power to act, but only act according to the instructions of the teacher, and promise and vow to act accordingly; in addition, many who listen to the Dharma and practice also make such vows; or, one becomes a universal monarch, creating many worldly laws for many beings and applying punishments, promising and vowing to protect them; furthermore, any kind of livestock is imprisoned in a strong pen, so that they have no power to move at all; or they are bound with shackles, or tied to other places with ropes, so that they have no power to escape; or officials are appointed to feed and care for them, so that they are fed and cared for, and have no power to move at all, etc. If such things appear definitely in experience or especially in dreams, it is the extent of breaking the vows. Third, the extent of granting accomplishments is: many beautiful and adorned men and women offer various offerings such as singing and dancing to oneself; in addition, sons and daughters, wives, servants, and slaves are offered without any reluctance; and villages, towns, and various livestock such as horses and cattle; gold measures, silver measures, and all kinds of jewels, all of which are not empty vessels, but are filled with extremely beautiful and pleasing objects; and new wax of various colors; similarly, various silks; various kinds of grains, but not black beans; and various plants such as grains; fresh trees with lush foliage, full of vitality, and bearing colorful fruits; various kinds of dry wood that emit fragrant odors and are not rotten; various tree flowers and fruits; and flowers of various colors that grow on land and in water; in addition, new clothes of various colors; and various legged beds, cushions, and bedding; and internal organs such as lungs and heart, which are taken away and returned; these are offered by others, and oneself and others enjoy these, etc. If these appear in experience and dreams, it is the extent of granting accomplishments. Fourth, the extent of expelling demons is: from the body of oneself or the object of contemplation, there appear precepts, sins, frogs, snakes, fish.
