Various kinds of offerings, silks of various colors, robes sewn with brocade, and scriptures. These things are all inside the houses, some in birds' nests and on the backs of bats. There are also naturally formed houses that are new, slightly dilapidated, and very dilapidated to the point of being ruined. Many are crowded together, some with only one or a corner. Go to these places to climb the houses, but once up, you can't get down. Many people come and go but can't leave the village. Go among the many offerings, possessions, and monastic robes and Buddha images to take possession of them. Take them one by one and store them away. There are also many monks in fine robes debating and arguing about doctrines. Great scholars and great Bonpos, wearing monastic robes, wearing hats, and holding golden umbrellas, claiming to be kings of men, wearing brocade robes, silk skirts, and Tang suits, etc., in various colors. They sit on thrones of gold and silver, covered with cushions of various brocades, silks, and fine silks and satins, with canopies and parasols of various silks. They possess many treasures of gold, silver, and jewels, and fill copper vessels with chang (barley beer) made from barley and other grains. There are many tea servers and attendants in fine robes, and nuns in fine robes and ornaments sit gracefully on turquoise thrones. They sit in temples, and together with retinues riding lions, retinues riding horses and elephants, and retinues riding chariots, they go to prostrate and pay homage. After hearing the Dharma, they develop reverence and circumambulate. They are overwhelmed by their majesty and feel somewhat afraid. Even if they don't prostrate and pay homage, they help them or, using Dharma debates as a pretext, don't argue with them. These are all signs of inner emptiness. There are also various incarnations of kings, many naked children, some wearing hats, some not wearing hats, some wearing monastic robes, some with long hair, immature and hairless, from infants to children under five years old, all of whom they cherish, holding them in their arms, carrying them on their backs, walking with them, and being attached to the children themselves. There are also lions, elephants, monkeys, peacocks, white and mottled parrots, silks of various colors, and robes sewn with brocade.
