Is there no rebirth? Human form is even harder to obtain than that! Third, considering the body of all sentient beings as a whole, it is like a seed. If seeds are scattered in the sky, is it possible for even one to remain? Human form is even harder to obtain than that! And so on. Second, there are four ways to show it from the perspective of numbers. Machig says: First, the body of all sentient beings is like the expanse of the great earth, while the human body is only the size of a small fingernail. Second, the body of all sentient beings is like the stars at night, while the human body is only the size of a star during the day. Third, the body of all sentient beings is like the hair on a horse's mane, while the human body is only the size of an eyelash on the eyelid. Fourth, the body of all sentient beings is like the plants and trees that grow on the earth, while the human body is only the size of what grows on a red rock. And so on. Third, showing it from the perspective of cause, Machig says: The cause is to completely abandon the ten non-virtues and practice the ten virtues with their branches. To take refuge in the Three Jewels from the depths of one's heart, to be embraced by the compassion of the Three Jewels, to increase through dedication with the three purities, to connect with pure aspirations, to have ease of body and mind at the time of death, and through the causes and conditions of a faithful spiritual friend and a virtuous mind, to obtain suitable parents by the power of karma from the bardo, and those suitable to be one's children, the human body gathered by these three karmas is accomplished. Although it is difficult to obtain such complete causes and conditions, the nature of the body is superior to other sentient beings, able to speak and understand meaning, and to obtain such a body suitable for practicing enlightenment is the kindness of the Three Jewels. Therefore, without separating from the Three Jewels for even a moment, taking the pure essence, and quickly striving in the work of accomplishing the supreme state, this is the vow that must be contemplated once a day. If one thinks in this way, one will be disgusted with the affairs of samsara, and it is necessary to turn one's mind to seeking liberation. And so on. Third, showing it from the perspective of cause, Machig says: The cause is to completely abandon the ten non-virtues and practice the ten virtues with their branches. To take refuge in the Three Jewels from the depths of one's heart, to be embraced by the compassion of the Three Jewels, and to have the three purities

Augmented by the complete dedication, connected with pure aspirations, with ease of body and mind at the time of death, and with the causes of faithful spiritual friends and virtuous minds, in the bardo, drawn by the power of karma, with those who should be parents, and those who should be one's children, the three are gathered by karma to form a human body. Although it is difficult to obtain such perfect causes and conditions, the nature of this body is superior to other sentient beings, able to speak and understand meaning, and capable of practicing bodhi. Obtaining such a body is the kindness of the Three Jewels. Therefore, one should not be separated from the Three Jewels even for a moment, taking the essence with a pure mind, and quickly striving for the work of achieving the supreme state. This is a vow that should be remembered at least once a day. Thinking in this way, one can turn one's mind away from the affairs of samsara and enter into the pursuit of liberation. It is necessary. It is said. Secondly, this human body, which is so difficult to obtain, is the most supreme among all sentient beings in the six realms. Moreover, among human beings, we who are born in Jambudvipa are particularly supreme. Among the people of Jambudvipa, being born in a place where the Buddha's teachings flourish is certainly supreme. It is said. If not, being born in the eight states of no leisure, hell has the suffering of heat and cold, the beings of the realm of Yama have the suffering of hunger and thirst, and animals have the suffering of being used, all without leisure to practice the path of liberation. Also, the three evil realms are busy because of ignorance, and the evil borderlanders among humans, and those similar to them, do not hear the name of the Three Jewels. Even if they hear it, they have no faith or respect. Heretics and others with wrong views, and beings similar to them, have their minds defiled by wrong views and have no leisure. Long-lived gods, and countries where no Buddha has appeared, and the mute who are disabled, are not suitable vessels for practicing the path of liberation. Therefore, Machig said: Among them, sentient beings such as the gods of the desire realm, and the form realm, and the formless realm, some have great powers and abilities of clairvoyance and miraculous powers with the defilements of karma, but there are also many. Some are harmful
