Sa. Utter 'Phut' briefly, settle with a subtle intonation. For example, like taking a grain from the Bhadrakalpa, without beginning, end, inside, or outside. Fill with breath, cut sharply with the tip of the lips, and visualize cutting off the flow of continuity. For dance and emptiness, illness and desire, settle with the visualized letter Ha. Phat! If a hundred and eight wrathful sounds are uttered at once, whatever harms can be destroyed, so do not do it meaninglessly. Phat! This is the same as my Dharma, 'Pha' means the meaning of reaching the other shore. 'Ta' means the meaning of the inner unsurpassed yoga. Combining these two wrathful letters into one is called Phat, and just reciting it has immeasurable merits. Phat! Just reciting it can knock down the head of inner self-grasping, and can pacify external diseases, evil spirits, the eight fears, and so on. My Dharma, the Great Seal's severance practice, is to combine the meaning of the outer Prajnaparamita Sutra and the inner unsurpassed yoga tantra into one and practice it, so it is called the Great Seal's severance, which is the same as the letter Phat. Moreover, Phat has three forms, as follows: Two wrathful seed syllables, combined into one and recited wrathfully. The sound of Phat arises, because the meaning and connotation are different, it is a clear indication of all visualized images. That is, there are three forms: Homage! The Phat of offering and generosity should be recited fluently. The Phat of summoning and expelling should be recited long. The Phat of cutting off boundaries should be recited briefly. The remaining Phat should be settled with a loud intonation. For example, like a pile of yak tails, like a soft pile, the inner strength together with the breath, release fluently and visualize releasing. Phat! The long ending should be recited fiercely. For example, like a rhinoceros horn, thick at the base and thin at the tip, fill with breath and draw it long into the throat, visualize gathering and sending away. For giving and receiving, the meaning of gathering, summoning and expelling, mostly settle with the letter Hum. The branches of Phat are Ha and Hum, visualize clearly.

These three letters are the life force of the Chöd practice. It is said. Secondly, there are three types of dangerous places: outer, inner, and secret. Among them, if the inner dangerous place is not cut off first, there will be no benefit even if one goes to the outside. Therefore, from the twenty-second chapter of Machig: If one engages in subduing demons and spirits while accompanied by the prideful demon, it will not be attained. If one leaves one's own demon within oneself and subdues demons elsewhere, it will not be attained. Unless impartial attachment arises, this wandering beggar will not attain it either. Thus, if one clings to duality within one's mind and fails to cut off impartial attachment, it is meaningless to wander around the borderlands out of self-desire and merely attach names to dangerous places. Therefore, one should first identify the three dangerous places: outer, inner, and secret, and then sever them there. Giving and taking, gathering meaning, attracting and dispelling, etc., are mostly sealed with the letter Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: 吽). The branches of the letter Phaṭ (ཕཊཿ,Sanskrit Devanagari: फट,Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, literal Chinese meaning: 呸) are Ha (ཧ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ह,Sanskrit Romanization: ha, literal Chinese meaning: 哈) and Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं,Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: 吽). The three letters that clarify the object of focus are the life force of the Chöd practice. It is said. Secondly, there are three types of dangerous places: outer, inner, and secret. Furthermore, the son Gyalwa Döndrup asked the mother in the fifty-fifth question: In general, there are three types of dangerous places. First, the dangerous places of cities, mountains, rocks, water, and trees that are possessed by the eight classes of gods and demons. Second, the dangerous place of the body, which is bound by the clinging to self, is the basis for both samsara and nirvana, and is the abode of the four hundred and four diseases. Third, the secret dangerous place of the mind, which is the root of ignorance's grasping and being grasped, and is the city of conceptual delusion. What is the difference between the inner dangerous place and the outer dangerous place?
