It is a wrong path and a place to seek, therefore it should be abandoned. The omniscient great Jigme Lingpa also said: Those who go to dangerous places, if they have not practiced the preliminaries to tame their minds, have not gained unwavering and stable understanding of the scriptures of the generation stage and the completion stage, have not grasped the warm signs of the five internal and external signs, but use food, leg bone trumpets, and hand drums to seek, they are afraid and tremble at the obstructive demons, but are completely entangled by the unobstructed demons, they are openly arrogant towards the joyful demons, but shrink back from the arrogant demons, while seeking wine and road rations, they say "take the meat, take the blood", it is ridiculous. Those who can exhaust the experience of calm abiding, and generate experience of insight, and can gallop on the dangerous path of equal taste, I am afraid there are no more cutters today. Thus it is said. PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破). The way to recite it is: Machig said: "This PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破) is a fierce and special letter, just hearing the sound of PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破) can calm the evil thoughts of non-human malicious people, it is a letter that can subdue with power. If this PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破) is not grasped with a focused mind, and the fierce PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破) is recited, it will cause the hearts of ordinary small ghosts to burst, so do not recite the fierce PHAṬ (藏文,梵文天城体,फट्,phaṭ,摧破) meaninglessly." Thus it is said. If you want to know more details, please refer to the Great Commentary. Also, the visualization of Chöd and the signs of Chöd are said to be signs blessed by flesh-eating ghosts and death gods, so they are not allowed. In addition, there are Chödpas who go astray, such as becoming funeral rituals, becoming corpse trading, becoming village rituals, becoming disaster relief, becoming offering substitutes, becoming healing diseases, becoming Chöd ghost catching, and becoming just a means of finding food and clothing, becoming subduing ghosts, etc., there are many kinds. Although there are explanations of these in the scriptures, if one puts one's life into it to satisfy one's own desires without the grasp of view and altruistic mind, then it is a wrong path and a place to seek, therefore it should be abandoned. The omniscient great Jigme Lingpa also said: Those who go to dangerous places, if they have not practiced the preliminaries to tame their minds, have not gained unwavering and stable understanding of the scriptures of the generation stage and the completion stage, have not grasped the warm signs of the five internal and external signs, but use food, leg bone trumpets, and hand drums to seek, they are afraid and tremble at the obstructive demons, but are completely entangled by the unobstructed demons, they are openly arrogant towards the joyful demons, but shrink back from the arrogant

While entangled with those demons, Seeking alcohol and provisions for the road, It's ridiculous to claim to carry flesh and blood. Having perfected the experience of calm abiding, And awakening experience in higher seeing, And being able to traverse the path of equal taste, It seems there are no Chöd practitioners these days. Thus it was said. PHAṬ! The way to pronounce it: Machik said: This syllable PHUṬ is a particularly powerful and fierce syllable, so just hearing the sound of PHAṬ can pacify the ferocity of the minds of harmful non-humans, and it is a syllable that can subdue them with power. PHAṬ! If you pronounce the fierce PHAṬ without grasping it with focused mind, the hearts of ordinary minor demons will burst, so do not pronounce the fierce PHAṬ meaninglessly. PHAṬ! If you strike a hundred and eight fierce sounds at once, you can destroy whatever is harmful, so do not do it meaninglessly. PHAṬ! This is the same as my doctrine: PHA means going to the other shore. ṬA means the inner, unsurpassed secret mantra. When these two fierce syllables are combined into one, it is called PHAṬ, and just uttering it has immeasurable qualities. Just uttering PHAṬ can destroy the head of inner self-grasping, and it can pacify outer diseases, evil spirits, the eight fears, and so on. My doctrine, the Great Seal Chöd, is the union of the outer Perfection of Wisdom Sutra and the inner Unsurpassed Secret Mantra Tantra, and practicing them together is called the Great Seal Chöd, which is the same as the syllable PHAṬ! There are three aspects of PHAṬ, as follows: Two vowel syllables of the fierce syllable, Combine into one and pronounce fiercely. When the sound called PHAṬ arises, The meanings are different and not the same, It is a clarification of all objects of focus. There are three aspects: Offering and generosity PHAṬ should be pronounced loosely, Inviting and dispelling PHAṬ should be pronounced long, Cutting off boundaries PHAṬ should be pronounced short, Increasing PHAṬ should be struck loudly. For example, like a pile of yak tails, Like a soft, piled-up heap, The strength of the abdomen and breath, Relax and aim to release. PHAṬ long, the end should be pronounced fiercely, For example, like a rhinoceros horn, The base is thick and the tip is thin, Fill the breath and draw it long in the throat, Aim to gather and dispel.
