Those who cause fear and dread also show very beautiful forms, so that ordinary people like and cling to them, so they bring harm and act as both gods and demons. Moreover, the terrifying form of the wrathful wisdom deity cannot be shown even to a cruel demon. However the cruel demon shows a beautiful form, it is shown for the purpose of harming all sentient beings. Therefore, the so-called gods and demons cannot be distinguished by their forms, nor can they be distinguished by their behavior. That is, there are demons who have good and pleasing forms, behave well, and harm sentient beings; and there are gods who have ugly and terrifying forms, and who benefit sentient beings with harmful minds. If non-human, malicious, and cruel beings are happy, they become gods who are conducive to and help in the attainment of enlightenment. Therefore, demons become gods, so they are called gods and demons. Know that the nature of gods and demons is not separate, but one. Those cruel demons also take rebirth as worldly gods of essence and state after death, so they are called gods and demons, and their essence is the same. Similarly, even if the ordinary worldly gods with good forms are not happy, they also become harmful demons, so they are also called gods and demons. Those gods die and become non-human cruel beings and become demons, so they are called gods and demons. In order to benefit unruly sentient beings, the wisdom deity shows a wrathful form. If ordinary people can see the retinue of black birds, black dogs, jackals, etc., then those wisdom deities are also regarded as demons, so they are called gods and demons and are frightened. Those cruel demons who are terrifying and frightening in order to harm all sentient beings also show very beautiful forms, so that ordinary people like and cling to them, so they bring harm and act as both gods and demons. Moreover, the terrifying form of the wrathful wisdom deity cannot be shown even to a cruel demon. However the cruel demon shows a beautiful form, it is shown for the purpose of harming all sentient beings.

Is the teacher. No matter how angry the deity of wisdom is, it is for the sake of protecting all sentient beings. However, without understanding this, they cling to the duality of gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm, thus causing their minds to become afflicted. For the two karmas of good and evil, the two results of happiness and suffering arise. They say that gods bestow benefits and demons cause harm, clinging to the conceptualization of gods and demons, not understanding that benefit and harm arise from accumulated karma. Because of clinging to individual existence as true, they still continue that habit, becoming the cause of samsara, which is immeasurable suffering. Therefore, it is very important to understand the law of karma. That is, the duality of gods and demons, the duality of good and bad, the duality of benefit and harm, the duality of high and low, the duality of attachment and aversion, the duality of samsara and nirvana, and so on, countless inconceivable karmas arise. It is necessary to know that these arise from all sentient beings accumulating various karmas, both good and non-good. If you want all harm, discomfort, and unpleasantness not to occur, you should abandon all non-virtuous actions.
