The two, 'a and brod (Tibetan)', are what are abandoned. That is, at the time of the fruition, there is no object to be abandoned and no abandoner. Pa'o. Thus it is said. Having thus properly recognized the distinctions of the four maras and the methods of abandoning them, in the state of the unborn nature of mind, one should practice the great self-liberation free from the duality of what is to be cut and the cutter. Fifth, 'gods and demons' has six divisions. Machig (Tibetan: མ་གཅིག་, meaning "one mother," referring to Machig Labdrön, a female Tibetan Buddhist adept) says: gods and demons imputed by the world, gods and demons of essence and abiding, gods and demons of appearance and superimposition, gods and demons of innate nature, gods and demons of unfailing karma, and gods and demons of ultimate meaning, these are six. Each of these has two, a 'god' and a 'demon'. Ultimately, there is definitely no such thing as 'god' and 'demon'. For worldly people, a god is also a demon, and a demon is also a god; there is no certainty. The first of these, the gods and demons imputed by the world, are universally known to worldly people. 'God' refers to a beautiful form that appears in the perceptual field of worldly people, a cognition that is pleasing and pure, which is called a god. 'Demon' refers to whatever causes unpleasantness and fear in someone's cognitive field, and whose form causes harm to life. Or, whoever benefits is called a god, and whoever harms is called a demon. Worldly people call gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm, which is the wishful thinking of the ignorant and does not correspond to reality. Because good people can also cause harm, and bad people can also bring benefit. There are many cases where benefit is given at first, but harm is caused later. There are also cases where harm is done at first, but benefit is given later, so there is no certainty. Attachment to good people as gods can also cause harm. Disliking bad people as demons can also bring benefit. Therefore, there is no certainty as to what 'god' and 'demon' refer to. Grasping the distinction between gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm, is a superimposition by worldly people and does not correspond to reality. Therefore, those who practice Chöd do not at all accept the idea of grasping gods and demons based solely on benefit and harm. Merely establishing the names of gods and demons based on good and bad, benefit and harm

Also, do not establish. Sound. Also, one should not proclaim and, having understood it to be unreal, should take it as the path. Furthermore, the so-called gods and demons of the first category, those that are imputed, are widely known to all worldly people. In this context, the term "god" refers to a form that appears good and pleasing in the perceptual field of worldly beings, a mental image that is joyful and pure. Those who move in such a way are called gods. On the other hand, whatever form is unpleasant and displeasing in someone's mental field, causing fear and acting as a condition that harms life, is called a demon. Moreover, those who bestow benefit are called gods, and those who cause harm are called demons. However, the fact that worldly people call gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm, is merely the wishful thinking of the ignorant and is not based on reality. For even good people can cause harm, and bad people can bestow benefit. It is also common for those who initially bestow benefit to later cause harm, and for those who initially cause harm to later bestow benefit. Therefore, there is no certainty. Even if one considers a beloved object of a good person to be a god, it can still cause harm. Even if one considers a bad person to be an undesirable demon, they can still bestow benefit. Thus, there is no definite way to determine what is meant by "god" and "demon." The notion of distinguishing between gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm, is a fabrication by worldly people and is not based on reality. Therefore, those who practice Chö completely reject the idea of considering those who merely bestow benefit or cause harm as gods and demons. They also do not establish the names of gods and demons based solely on good and bad, benefit and harm. Sound. Also, one should not proclaim and, having understood it to be unreal, should take it as the path. Secondly, concerning the gods and demons of intrinsic nature, there are two types of gods: worldly gods of samsara and gods who transcend the world. Among the transcendent gods, there are those who have transcended both the causes and effects of samsara and the place of samsara, and those who have not transcended the place of samsara. For example, the Great Vajradhara, the Buddhas of the ten directions, the Great Mother, and the Victorious Amitabha, along with their retinues, reside in the Akaniṣṭha Ghanavyūha realm. These are gods who have transcended both the place and the causes and effects of the world. In this realm of the Sahā world, the Bhagavan Victorious Shakyamuni
