Everything converges in the center of the one and only nature of mind. If you know the center of the one and only nature of mind, you know the center of all dharmas, so my dharma is the Great Madhyamaka. All dharmas encompassed by appearance, existence, samsara, and nirvana are perfected upon the one and only nature of mind. If you know how the meaning is perfected upon the one and only nature of mind, you know that the meaning of all dharmas is perfected, so my dharma is also the Great Perfection. Understand it in this way! Thus it was said. Fourth, the distinction of the four maras is divided into two: from which sutras and tantras it is taught, and the way to distinguish and abandon them. First, because this instruction makes the mara the object of dharmata. Therefore, the instruction is called "The Cutting of Mara's Territory," from the Tantra of Mara: "It is incompatible with the path and obstructs the path." And, from the Tantra of "Cutting Through All Views": "Due to the power of ignorance and wrong thoughts, all the causes and effects of samsara are produced. In the clarity of a moment, one is bound by the mara of attachment and aversion to true existence." It means attachment to the way things appear, and all appearances are maras. When one realizes its selflessness through instruction and practices it, it becomes the cutting of the mara's dharmata. Continuing from above: "If you realize that attachment and aversion are without self, the mara itself becomes the meaning of dharmata. If you realize that whatever appears is without self, awareness, mindfulness, and companions will become helpful. Everything becomes the cutting of dharmata, it is well explained." Some ordinary people call the mind, which is the characteristic of conventionality, merely clear, like a maiden's flickering, tight darkness, Mahamudra. Those Mahamudra practitioners who do not even know the characteristic of the unestablished mind are foolish and false dharma, do not trust it, stay away from it! In short, all dharmas converge in the center of the one and only nature of mind.

End. Thus it is said. Fourth, the division of the four maras has two parts: from which sutras and tantras are taught, and how to abandon the distinctions. First: Because this instruction takes the mara as the object of dharmata. The instruction is called "Severing the Domain of Mara," from the Tantra of Mara: "It is incompatible with the path and obstructs the path." Also, in the Tantra of Single Severance of View, it says: "Due to the karma of ignorance and wrong thoughts, all causes and effects of samsara are produced. In the clear appearance of a moment, clinging to truth, love and hate are bound by the mara." It means attachment to appearance, and all appearances are maras. If one realizes its selflessness through the instruction and practices it, then the mara becomes the severing domain of dharmata, as continued in the previous text: "If you realize that love and hate have no self-nature, the mara itself will turn into the meaning of dharmata. If you realize that whatever appears has no self-nature, awareness and mindfulness will become companions. All are the severing domain of dharmata, as is well explained." If one does not understand it in this way, then the distinctions of the mara are explained, that is, the Sutra Explaining Three Appearances explains four distinctions, so what are those four? The mara with obstacles and the mara without obstacles, the joyful and exuberant mara and the arrogant mara. Its characteristics are: on the appearance of the five senses and objects, true clinging, love and hate, and happiness and suffering arise. Taking and abandoning is the mara with obstacles. On the objects of the mind, distinguishing good and bad, taking and abandoning with hope and doubt, is called the mara of unobstructed discrimination. Diseases, evil spirits, the ability to pacify, warmth, etc., for the qualities that depend on the path, attachment, arrogance, and pride are the joyful and exuberant mara. For reality and instructions, one cannot abandon them with wisdom and engages in speculation, hesitation is the arrogant mara. In all self-appearing dharmata, knowing and cutting off attachment, without taking or abandoning, naturally liberated, the mara itself is liberated, without doubt. Thus, the name, meaning, distinction, and method of cutting off are all taught at the same time. Second, Machig (a woman's name) said: The distinctions of the mara are, the mara with obstacles and the mara without obstacles, the joyful and exuberant mara and the arrogant mara, arising from oneself and harming oneself, like the saliva of a rakshasa. The eye sense clings to form, and with the nature of loveliness and unloveliness, love and hate arise.
