Therefore, conceptual thought is a friend, a spiritual companion. Non-conceptual emptiness cannot traverse the path. In your mind, whatever arises, whether it be memory or conceptual thought, rest in a state of non-contrivance. Even if conceptual thoughts suddenly and abruptly arise, like water and waves, or like clouds in the sky, know the key to self-pacification and self-liberation, and then rest openly. Whatever memory or thought arises, it is the magic of the mind. That is emptiness. Resolutely decide that emptiness is the Dharmakaya. In equipoise, although all phenomena appear, emptiness is like the center of the sky. Do not fixate on any object. Do not grasp, judge, or analyze anything with the mind, but rest openly. In general, there are various views on equipoise. However, the unerring view of Machig (Tibetan: མ་གཅིག), as explained in the profound texts, is: In the "Questions and Answers of the Collection of Teachings" (Tibetan: བཀའ་ཚོམས་དྲིས་ལན) it says: The mind rests in the space of the sky. Rest in a state of no object of focus. Because the nature of the mind is unborn, therefore, rest without hope or fear. Unborn is free from action. Rest in an unconditioned state. Because the nature of reality transcends thought, therefore, rest in a state of non-calculation. Sometimes like a dry human head, the five sense doors rest openly. Sometimes like a baby falling asleep, rest comfortably lying down. Rest in a state of non-distraction. Rest in a state of no desire. Rest in a state of stillness. Rest in your own place. Rest without attachment. If you do not grasp the key to understanding, no matter how you rest, it is as if you have not rested. In ordinary, non-distracted awareness, without being stained by fabrication or impurity, rest in the self-liberated state of your own place. Even if conceptual thoughts arise, the nature of reality is a friend. Wisdom will increase in both inner and outer phenomena. Enlightenment arises from realization. Therefore, conceptual thought is a friend, a spiritual companion. Non-conceptual emptiness cannot traverse the path. Do not cut off conceptual thoughts, son of lineage. If you do not grasp the key to understanding, no matter how you rest, it is the cause of delusion. No matter how you rest, it is the cause of conceptual thought. However, you should train in this way. As it says in the "Chapter on Limbs" (Tibetan: ལེའུ་ལག་): If you hope for the Dharma, that is bondage. Just as you do not look back on the path you have already taken. The nature of mind is pure from the beginning. There is no need to meditate on emptiness or quiescence. The nature of mind is self-empty from the beginning. Impurities are peaceful from the beginning. Because qualities exist from the beginning. If you grasp at appearance and emptiness, cutting the rope will liberate you into the expanse. Thus it is said. Ga

Just clearing away the temporary stains, the Buddha is inherently complete. Oṃ! It is certain that the qualities are inherently complete. If it is not established in this way, one will fall into error. As it says in the "Limb": "Sentient beings, through their own mental defects, are like a spider wrapped in wool. Sons of noble family who do not stop conceptual thoughts, if they do not grasp the essence of understanding, no matter how they establish it, it is the cause of confusion; no matter how they establish it, it is the cause of conceptual thoughts. However, one should learn in this way." Also, as it says in the "Limb": "If you rely on the Dharma, it is bondage. Like looking back at the road after having crossed it, there is no need to meditate on emptiness and peace, as the mind itself is pure from the beginning. The mind itself is inherently empty, the stains are inherently pacified, and the qualities are inherently present. If you cut the rope of clinging to appearance and emptiness, you will be liberated into the expanse." As it is said, just clearing away the temporary stains, the Buddha is inherently complete. Oṃ! It is certain that the qualities are inherently complete. If it is not established in this way, one will fall into error. As it says in the "Limb": "Sentient beings, through their own mental defects, are like a spider wrapped in wool. Those who practice Dharma are also bound by Dharma, wanting liberation but again being bound. Many abandon non-virtue, but few abandon virtue. Many are the Dharma practitioners of thought, but few are those who truly cut off pride. Many understand the view, but few are those who are free from extremes. Many meditate on non-thought, but few are those who do not make it a mental object. Many attain the result, but few are those who are without hope and fear. Many have great wisdom, but few are those who know the nature of mind. Many abandon worldly dharmas, but few are those who abandon divine dharmas. If you do not realize the single meaning of non-action, you will not attain Buddhahood through contrived dharmas. In general, the Dharma that I, an old woman, teach is a Dharma sufficient for sleeping, but many are those who do not want to sleep and are busy with activities. Contrived things are impermanent and compounded, and compounded things are of a deceptive nature. Do not trust deceptive things. Therefore, free from cause and condition, in the emptiness of the nature of your own mind, do not fabricate or alter, but rest in its natural state. Self-liberation is great bliss." And so on, extensively taught. Furthermore, not thinking about anything is called the Great Mother Prajnaparamita, who gives birth to all the Buddhas of the three times. It is divided into three: the Sutra Prajnaparamita, words and
