Oh! Firstly, in the initial introduction, it is not enough to merely understand, merely experience, merely perceive, merely know, merely remember. As it is said, "It is not meditation but habituation," if you do not integrate experience into habit and gain stability, mere recognition will not lead to accomplishment. Kunda asked Dampa Rinpoche, "There are few accomplished ones in Tibet, why is that?" Dampa Rinpoche said, "Those who are lazy in practice will not attain siddhis, those without merit and holding wrong views will not grasp awareness, those who have not accumulated merit will not generate certainty, those who are dull and only know scriptures have no measure of experience, those who have not turned their minds away from samsara will not reach the end of Dharma, those without backbone cannot endure asceticism, those who study dialectics and logic do not understand the key instructions, those who do not have the armor of diligence in their hearts will not accomplish anything. Until enlightenment, do not stray from that state to other places, maintain continuous mindfulness, practice without distraction, and apply the antidotes without hesitation." Therefore, in a secluded place, make your body posture as comfortable as possible, and let your eyes rest without fixation in the space. Do not think about anything in your mind. "The wisdom without hesitation of the three meanings, the lord of all meanings, qualities, and three," thus, realizing the ultimate wisdom without hesitation will ultimately accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. That wisdom must also correctly abandon errors and delusions, and without doubt regarding the meaning of the honest truth—conventional truth, and the meaning of the certain truth—ultimate truth, and the meaning of the various vehicles from the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas to the nine successive vehicles, and in order to definitely understand the established tenets, that will become the merit of benefiting sentient beings, and will become the master of body, speech, and mind. Then, there are four ways to maintain the experiential instructions: settling the mind, post-meditation, union, and conduct. Firstly, in the initial introduction, it is not enough to merely understand, merely experience, merely perceive, merely know, merely remember. As it is said, "It is not meditation but habituation," if you do not integrate experience into habit and gain stability, mere recognition will not lead to accomplishment.

A miser will not attain accomplishment. A person with wrong views and no fortune will not grasp wisdom. A person who has not accumulated merit will not generate certainty. A pretentious Dharma speaker has no measure of experience. A person who has not turned their mind away from samsara will not reach the end of Dharma. A person without backbone in their heart cannot endure asceticism. A person who has studied logic and rhetoric will not understand the essential instructions. A person without the armor of diligence in their mind will not accomplish anything. Until enlightenment, without straying from that state, maintain continuous mindfulness. Practice without distraction. Apply antidotes without interruption. Thus it is said. In a solitary place, make the body posture comfortable, and let the eyes rest without fixation in the space. Do not think about anything in the mind. In the mind, rest in a state of not thinking about any thoughts or discriminations. Even if sudden thoughts and discriminations arise, like water and waves, or like clouds in the sky, recognize the key point of self-pacification and self-liberation, and rest openly. Whatever thoughts and discriminations arise are the magic of the mind. It is emptiness. Emptiness is the Dharmakaya, so decide definitively. In equipoise, although all phenomena appear, emptiness is like the center of the sky. Do not fixate on any object. Do not grasp, judge, or analyze anything in the mind; let go of everything. In general, there are various views on equipoise, but the unerring view of Machig (Machig Labdrön, a female realized master of Tibetan Buddhism) as explained in the profound meaning scriptures is this: From the collection of questions and answers, it is said: The mind rests in the state of space. It rests in the state of non-objectification. The nature of the mind is unborn, therefore it rests in a state without hope or fear. Unborn is freedom from action. It rests in an unfabricated, natural state. Because Dharma nature transcends thought, it rests in a reckless wilderness. Sometimes like a dry human head, the five sense gates rest openly. Sometimes like a child falling asleep, relax and lie down, resting in a state of non-distraction, resting in a state without desire, resting in a state of stillness, resting in its own place, resting in a state without attachment. If you do not grasp the key point, no matter how you rest, it is the same as not resting. In ordinary awareness, without distraction, without being stained by the defilements of fabrication, rest in the self-liberated state. Even if thoughts and discriminations arise, Dharma nature is a companion. Wisdom increases in outer and inner Dharma. Attaining realization, Buddhahood arises.
