As for me, even if the words are different, the meaning is the same. Sometimes, although not experienced due to intelligence, one is good at speaking; sometimes, although one has experience, the words are not smooth, so one should observe carefully. Also, the one who seeks the mind and the object to be sought, are the two the same in meaning or different? If the same, then one should repeatedly examine the shape, etc. If different, then there must be two minds, so examine carefully. If after examining, one says it is like emptiness and clarity, then, has the conceptual thought of the one who examines the same and different ceased? Is it because it is not there that it is emptiness and clarity? Similarly, if one says that emptiness is impossible, then deny it. If one says it is like this, free from all acceptance, with no obstruction, impossible to grasp, unable to be spoken, then experience has arisen. Generating faith is: Oh! You looked but did not see, searched but did not find, grasped but did not seize, just in that state, do not think or conceptualize anything. Do not fabricate anything, but rest relaxed. Seeing that very nature is seeing the unseen Dharma. As one mother said: Not seeing is seeing the Dharma. Aryadeva said: The mind has no place of origin or destination, nor is there a place of establishment like a particle. Thus he spoke. If you think that even if severance is like this, other dharmas are not like this, then, in the sutra requested by Maitreya, Maitreya asked: How should one observe the inner mind? Please teach. The mind is without shape, without color, without place, like the sky. Then, the lama wrote down how to abide, he said: If you say it is like this kind of shape and color, or the characteristics of experiences, illusions, delusions, guesses, dreams, etc., or the clinging to reality such as grasping at reality. If clinging is spoken of, then that is not recognizing the true face and not being in accord. So ask again and investigate. If you say you have not found it, then, is what you have not found something that was never there, or is it like it exists but you have not found it? If you say so, ask again. Also, if there is no shape or color, place of origin or destination, etc., but it is something that cannot be grasped, or clear and transparent, or empty and vast, or naturally abiding, etc., then you are still not in accord, so look again. Also, if it is like emptiness and clarity, there is no way to grasp it, and there is an experience that cannot be spoken.

If it is said, it is like examples, hearing, conjecture, and what others have taught. If you ask repeatedly with a cunning mind, it will not be certain and unstable. If it is experience, even if the words are different, the meaning will be the same. Sometimes, because the mind is clear, even if there is no experience, one can be good at expressing it; sometimes, even if there is experience, the words are not smooth, so observe carefully. Also, are the one who seeks the mind and the object of seeking the same or different? If they are the same, then examine the shape and so on again and again. If they are different, then there must be two minds, so examine carefully. If you say that after examining it is like emptiness and clarity, then is the conceptualization of examining one and different stopped, or has it disappeared and become emptiness and clarity? Similarly, if you deny that emptiness is impossible, and assert that this is a state that is separate from all acknowledgments, the door of appearance is not closed, it cannot be determined, and it cannot be spoken, then experience has arisen. Generating faith is: Oh, you cannot see it with your eyes, you cannot find it by searching, you cannot grasp it by holding, in that state, do not think or conceptualize anything, do not fabricate anything, relax and let go. Seeing that very reality is seeing the unseen Dharma, as one mother said: Not seeing is seeing the Dharma. Also, Arya Deva said: The mind has no place of origin and no place of going, and there is not even a particle of establishment. Having said this, if you think that this is the case for Chöd, but not for other doctrines, then in the Sutra Requested by Maitreya it says: Maitreya asked: How should one look at the mind within? Please teach. The Buddha said: The mind has no shape, no color, no place, it is like the sky. Also, if you think that the nature of the three poisons is truly established, and I have not realized it, then it is not so. In the chapter of Light Increase in the Jewel Heap Sutra, it says: In this way, completely search for the mind, what is the Dharma of being greedy, being hateful, and being ignorant? Is it past, future, or present? Among them, the past mind has ceased, the future mind has not yet come, and the present mind has no place. Light Increase, this mind is not inside, not outside, and not in between, it cannot be seen. Having said this. It is also said in the Tantra: Uncultivated.
