Afterwards, signs of purifying obscurations appear, and one is guided to search for the mind by relying on pure awareness. It is said. There are three aspects to this: introducing through the opening of the sky-door; wandering in dangerous places in order to enhance meditation, conduct, and practice; and repeating the accumulation of practice as food. The first of these has two parts: the student searching for the mind and the lama introducing it, and establishing it through oral instructions. First, the way the lama guides you to search for the mind is this: In the past, wandering in the three realms and six classes of beings, experiencing various joys and sorrows, what is the reason for this? It is because of being deluded by not recognizing one's own nature. Therefore, it is necessary to get to the bottom of it and find the source of the various conceptual thoughts that arise, such as the rambling, scattered, rough, and remembering what one does not remember, called "I" and "mine." If one cannot determine that the mind is within oneself, one cannot meditate. Even if the lama is skilled, the Dharma is good, and the oral instructions are profound, if one does not know how to introduce it, then no matter how great the general understanding and wisdom of the Dharma, and how many kinds of awareness there are, one cannot understand this truth by measuring and reasoning. As it is said in the Sutra Unraveling the Intent: The ultimate, worldly, and transcendent, cannot be realized through inference or debate. It is extremely subtle and profound, beyond thought. It is the object of individual self-awareness. It is beyond words and completely cut off from expression. It is the ultimate Dharma, free from contention and peaceful. Second, if one carelessly reveals it to those who are not suitable vessels, and to those with inferior faculties and wrong views who cannot comprehend the profound emptiness, then the action-performing dakinis and the ocean of oath-bound ones will become the executioners of life. Those who have not received empowerment, transmission, and guidance, etc., should also not freely enter the Dharma, but should act with caution. At this time, from the opening of the sky-door, signs of purifying obscurations appear, and one is guided to search for the mind by relying on pure awareness. It is said. There are three aspects to this: introducing through the opening of the sky-door; wandering in dangerous places in order to enhance meditation, conduct, and practice; and repeating the accumulation of practice as food.

Wandering in the three realms and six paths, experiencing various joys and sorrows, what is the reason for this? It is because of being deluded by not recognizing one's own nature. Therefore, the root cause must be investigated. Investigate that culprit who grasps "I" and "mine" as real, scattered, frivolous, and unrestrained, and recalls all kinds of thoughts that should not be recalled. If one cannot even determine that this mind is within oneself, one cannot practice meditation. Even if the guru is learned, the Dharma is exquisite, and the instructions are profound, if one cannot recognize one's own nature, then the general understanding of the Dharma and the vast wisdom, as well as the many kinds of knowledge, cannot truly understand this truth through measurement and reasoning. As it is said in the *Sandhinirmocana Sutra*: The ultimate truth transcends the world and is beyond thought, it cannot be attained by following others' speculations and debates, it is extremely subtle and profound, surpassing all discriminating wisdom, it is the realm of self-realization of the noble ones, it is inexpressible and devoid of all conceptual constructs, the non-controversial is the true meaning, it is the nature that transcends all discriminations. Also, as it is said in the *Kalachakra Tantra*: The negation of existence, emptiness, is the emptiness of substance. And as it is said in the *Upadesha Abhisheka Sutra*: Shariputra asked: How should the monks listen to the instructions and practice diligently? The Buddha taught: The monks who combine names and forms, and increase them through mutual interaction, are deceiving and enticing children. All dharmas are without self, and their nature is luminosity, this is the ultimate instruction, and one should listen and practice diligently in this way. Also, as it is said in the *Lankavatara Sutra*: Accumulations of words and letters, arising distinctions in the aspects of objects, like a great elephant sinking in deep mud, loving delusion and not attaining truth, one will not attain true wisdom. Therefore, it must be pointed out by the guru and experienced by the disciple. For this, first one must generate strong devotion to the guru. Then, for the benefit of all sentient beings, generate the mind of wanting to realize the meaning of the Prajnaparamita. Then, by combining dependent origination with the body, realization will arise in the mind. As it is said, by sitting in the vajra posture, the downward-moving air will be blocked. Similarly, with equipoise, the fire-equalizing air. Straightening the spine, and opening the clear passage, these two cause the pervasive air.
