In order to save him from suffering, generate love and compassion, disregarding one's own flesh and blood and life, entrust him to it, grasp him with a loving heart, never let him go anywhere, subdue him, and establish him in liberation. If he cannot be subdued in this way, subdue him with both peaceful and wrathful means. If he cannot be subdued in this way, he must be subdued by wrathful means. If he cannot be subdued in this way, then solely by wrathful means, apply the action of wrathful samadhi, and subdue him with the giving of flesh and blood. He will certainly be subdued, and he must be made to enter the sacred Dharma. However, if one generates great hatred for one's own sake, and inflicts violence in order to harm him, then both oneself and others will become the cause of suffering, and this is also contrary to my doctrine. Therefore, even if one acts violently solely for the sake of others, there will be no fault. The reason for the transformation is that the glorious Lord of Wisdom is extremely fierce, powerful and majestic, with a black face, a frowning face, bared fangs, and a terrifying appearance. Although he liberates those wicked beings, it is not to harm those beings, but to free them from suffering and establish them on the path to liberation. Parents beating their children is also for the sake of the children, not for the sake of the parents themselves. Similarly, in doing things for sentient beings, one must do it without being tainted by one's own desires. Son, in this way, gods and demons cannot be distinguished by their appearance, and it is also difficult to distinguish them by their behavior. Some demons with beautiful and pleasing appearances harm sentient beings through good behavior. There are also harmful gods with ugly and frightening appearances who do beneficial things. Those non-human, malicious, and wicked beings are also happy to become gods who are conducive to and assist in the practice of enlightenment. Therefore, it is said that demons become gods, and therefore it is said that gods and demons, one should know that the nature of gods and demons is not separate, but one. Those evil demons, when their lives end, will be reborn as worldly gods in their essential state, so it is said that gods and demons are the same in nature. Similarly, the beautiful world

Even if the ordinary deity one relies on is not pleased, there will also be a harmful demon, so it is called a deity-demon. When those deities die and become fierce non-humans, they are called deity-demons because they act as demons. In order to benefit untamed sentient beings, some wisdom deities manifest wrathful forms, together with retinues such as crows, black dogs, jackals, etc. If ordinary people can see those, they will take those wisdom deities as demons, calling them deity-demons and being afraid. In order to harm all sentient beings, those fierce and terrifying demons will also manifest very beautiful forms, causing ordinary people to like and be attached to them, thereby bringing harm, so there are also those who act as both deities and demons. Moreover, the wisdom deity manifesting a terrifying form in wrathful ferocity will not show it to fierce demons, and fierce demons will not show forms like those of the gods of the form realm, but will show beautiful forms in order to harm sentient beings. No matter how wrathful the wisdom deity is, it will protect and save sentient beings, therefore, not understanding this, only relying on good and bad and benefit and harm, one clings to deities and demons as two, causing the mind to become afflicted. From the two actions of good and evil arise the two results of happiness and suffering. One says that deities give benefit and demons bring harm, thereby being bound by the conceptual thoughts of deities and demons. Not understanding that benefit and harm arise from the accumulation of karma, one clings to inherent existence, and also because of similar causes, it becomes the cause of samsara, suffering immeasurable pain. Therefore, it is very important to understand the law of karma. That is to say, the two, deities and demons, the two, good and bad, the two, benefit and harm, the two, happiness and suffering, the two, high and low, the two, attachment and aversion, the two, samsara and nirvana, etc., and countless various kinds of karma, are all unspeakable and limitless, all of which arise from the various good and evil actions accumulated by each sentient being, and this must be understood. If one wants all harm, discomfort, and unpleasant things not to happen, one must abandon all non-virtuous actions. Happiness and wanting
