The wind of the four elements is the disturbed nature of great spontaneous movement, the basis of all things; water is the nature of moisture and movement, which gathers all things; fire is endowed with the warmth of hot and cold touch, which ripens all things; earth is hard and solid, the support of all things. Thus, the four elements abide in their own place, and abide in their own place and move slowly, which is the cause of all desirable things, hence called gods. Those who are extremely agitated and very confused are called demons because they commit great sins. Summer is a god, winter is a demon. Autumn is a god, spring is a demon. Day is a god, night is a demon. Birth is a god, death is a demon. A calm and happy body and mind is a god, and discomfort and confusion caused by disease is a demon. Youth and strength, and the great power of karma are gods, and old age and weakness are demons. These are inevitable for all sentient beings, and are not deceptive. They arise from common karma, so they are called gods and demons of common karma. The four elements arise from the karma accumulated by all sentient beings, or from the karma of nature, or from spontaneous arising, so know that they are called spontaneous. Son! Secondly, the gods of entry are: the parents who give birth to the body gathered by the power of karma, the noble guru who generates the mind and shows the path of liberation, and the five gods who initiate. These are all Because of the power of accumulating karma, they are not deceived by karma, so they act as their own gods. Therefore, they are called the gods of unerring karma. Also, due to the power of karma, parents have great wealth and little wealth, high caste and low caste, good looks and bad looks, practice virtue and practice non-virtue. Although it is necessary to open the door of entry for each of these, it is not eternal and there is no certainty. Only temporarily, they act as gods and demons of benefit and harm, which is also individual. The love and compassion of parents, siblings, teachers and disciples, etc., also fight each other.

Eventually, they become spirits that harm each other. That is because the karma of love and compassion has been exhausted, and they cling to the intention to harm, and act accordingly. Similarly, those who were loving and compassionate may also transform into cruel non-humans after passing away, causing harm to sentient beings such as former relatives, becoming spirits. Likewise, after passing away, enemies who were previously killed by each other may become gods who offer help. In this way, beings are constantly reborn in the six realms of existence. Therefore, there is not a single sentient being in the six realms who has not been our parents and relatives. Although there are actually no ghosts, people temporarily distinguish between gods and ghosts in moments of not understanding this, clinging to duality. This is because people do not understand that everything arises from their own accumulated karma. When misfortune occurs, they think it is a special retribution against them, and become frustrated. Or, when worldly prosperity flourishes slightly, they become self-righteous and arrogant. Because they do not understand the cause and effect of these things, they cling to the benefits and harms brought about by their own karma as the actions of gods and ghosts, thereby generating attachment and hatred, and ultimately wandering in samsara. Therefore, we should understand that clinging to the pleasant and unpleasant feelings brought about by our own accumulated karma is a worldly wrong view. So, there is not a single one of the six types of sentient beings who has not been our parents. Therefore, we should recognize that all sentient beings are our parents, and firmly believe that they are our parents, remembering the kindness of our parents, thereby abandoning hatred, and caring for them with love and compassion. This is the way of Chö practice (གཅོད་ཡུལ།). Son of lineage, those cruel and violent non-humans, greedy for life force, harm many sentient beings, especially those non-humans who harm us, are called ghosts. These ghosts have been our parents countless times, but because they have been reborn, we do not recognize them. Although they harm us because of the power of negative karma, we should recognize that they are our parents.
