To those, saying they are accomplishments, auspiciousness, gods, and glory, and falsely distinguishing them, thereby regarding them as gods. This is called "appearance falsely distinguished as gods." Similarly, in inappropriate times, such as winter, seeing various terrifying forms like snakes and frogs, and in summer, seeing otters and giant caterpillars devouring many creatures, seeing fish struggling in dryness, and furthermore, feeling fear and dread towards unpleasant forms seen by the eyes, causing various discomforts, to those, saying they are demons, thereby causing misfortune. Because of falsely distinguishing and saying they are demons, they are called "appearance falsely distinguished as gods and demons." Although this is the attachment of worldly people to gods and demons, the Chö practitioners do not consider merely appearances as gods and demons. In reality, merely appearances cannot be said to be gods and demons. The gods and demons of appearance are merely worldly false distinctions. Therefore, Chö practitioners neither rejoice nor cling, but place them in great equanimity, thereby they cannot cause harm and are liberated in their own place. The Chö practitioner says: If you do not understand in this way, and cling to the distinctions of gods and demons merely because of appearances, then you are violating my teachings and abandoning the necessity of Chö. Therefore, generate certainty in the meaning and practice it. Son of lineage! Thus he said. Fourth, the naturally co-emergent gods and demons: In the aspect of the pure appearance of self-awareness, the five great wisdoms arise, this is called gods. From the ignorance of self-grasping, the five poisons of affliction arise, this is called demons. That is to say, from the very beginning, the wisdom of self-awareness, the primordial purity, the unborn Dharmakaya, and the ignorance of self-grasping and affliction, these two arise simultaneously, and awareness and ignorance are mixed together, therefore it is called the co-emergent and combined gods and demons. Such co-emergent gods and demons are not understood by ordinary worldly people, and each is obscured by the sudden stain of ignorance, accumulating non-virtuous deeds, accumulating immeasurable causes of samsara, and constantly indulging in karma and afflictions. ༄༅།། Means to enter.

If so, then the root of all faults arises from self-grasping. That is also because one has not examined it with the antidote that makes the light of wisdom shine extremely brightly. Because one is ignorant of all general actions and activities, one clings to the appearances of benefit and harm, good and bad, merely as objects, as two kinds of gods and demons, and that is ignorance. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish between the co-emergent god and demon. That is also because the radiance of the five wisdoms, which possess the four co-emergent self-aware wisdoms, is the antidote that cuts off ignorance. The ignorance or self-grasping that obscures self-aware wisdom is the object to be cut off by self-aware wisdom. Because ordinary worldly people cannot distinguish between the co-emergent god and demon, they cannot distinguish between all virtuous and non-virtuous actions, so they become confused and become the cause of samsara. Therefore, those who practice Chö should distinguish between the co-emergent god and demon, and they should realize selflessness with the self-aware wisdom of the cutter, which is the antidote to self-grasping, which is to be cut off. That is also because, in the beginning, from the very basis, the dharmakaya of wisdom and the impurity of ignorance and self-grasping exist without distinction, so it is called co-emergent. It is not produced by any cause or condition, so it is self-arisen, and there is no way to say when it first arose, so it is naturally born, and therefore it is called naturally co-emergent. That is also because when there is no examination, clarity and non-clarity exist together, so they cannot be distinguished, and even if they are not clear, if one examines and investigates, they are like the moon in water without difference, because the entities exist separately, so they are known separately, but they are distinguished separately. That also depends on a lama who possesses eight qualities. This explains the characteristics of the naturally co-emergent gods and demons. Fifth, the infallible karmic gods and demons are of two kinds: naturally occurring common karma and the karma of differences that are practiced by entering individual paths. The first common one is: the four elements, the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the two of day and night, the two of birth and death, sickness, the two of health and happiness, youth and old age and decay. This is also
