And it is also very contradictory. All the common appearances of worldly people cannot be accomplished, especially it is extremely contradictory to my Dharma, because the main thing in my Dharma is Bodhicitta. If my Dharma practitioners wear the skin of a wild animal, it will cause a little arrogance in themselves, and it will not enter the minds of others. Therefore, it will become an obstacle to Bodhicitta. Therefore, the skin of a wild animal should be abandoned. If one is free from self-grasping and not tainted by the defilement of self-interest, but only benefits others, without satisfaction, perfects the qualities, and accomplishes great meaning. If one realizes that meaning, through various ascetic practices, one can do immeasurable things for the benefit of sentient beings. Even if such a person wears the skin of a wild animal, it will not become a fault for that person. However, because it does not suit the minds of others, it should be abandoned. Unless it is necessary to hold it in order to establish dependent origination. Like this, for those who are not capable and for beginners, the skin of wild animals must be abandoned. Because Bodhicitta will be lost and it will become an obstacle to liberation. Moreover, there are many other faults, so it should be abandoned. In particular, dog skin has faults, because it has nine faults, so it must be abandoned. That is, because one is born into the evil body of a dog due to the torment of karma, due to the influence of evil karmic obscurations, it will cause the fault that the wisdom deities do not descend, this is the first. Due to the evil shadow, it will cause the fault that the heroes, dakinis and protectors do not descend, this is the second. Because it has a bad smell, it will cause the fault that guests of pure lineage do not descend, this is the third. Because it is an unclean and bad object, by the power that whatever comes into contact with it will be defiled and decayed, The earth deities, the ground deities, the local deities, the place deities, and the village deities, they all dislike it. The dakinis are angry and agitated, unhappy and create harm, this is the fourth fault. Due to the poisonous gas, it will cause the fault that some bees and small insects die, this is the fifth. Due to the residue of the bad smell, it will cause the fault that good people are disgusted and it does not suit everyone's mind, this is the sixth. All the dogs in the village will be afraid as soon as they smell the smell, and the fault of fleeing in panic, this is the seventh. Buddhist

It is contrary to the Buddhist teachings and does not belong to any sect, which is the eighth fault. In particular, it is incompatible with my doctrine and becomes an obstacle to cultivating the mind of enlightenment, which is the ninth fault. Therefore, such dog skin must be abandoned. All disciples! Thus he spoke. Then, the Lion of Dharma asked: Machig, the skin of wild animals has both faults and merits, especially the skin of dogs has only faults. What you said, I can only understand a part. If wild animals, dogs, and those who have not died while alive, do these faults and merits still exist? If there is no fault in being alive, Then, what is the reason that the skin after death has the ability to generate faults? Also, the earth lords, land lords, local lords, place lords, and village lords you mentioned, How should we recognize them separately? Please tell us about these. Thus he asked. Machig Labdrön again said: All disciples, listen! Wild animals in general, including dogs, when they are alive without dying, Although they have the ability to generate merit, the corpse after death has greater merit and demerit. Therefore, the ability of the skin to generate faults and merits is very powerful. For example, growing from the land Various crops such as grains, as well as plants such as garlic, plants such as flowers, plants such as grass, plants such as medicine, plants such as poison, plants such as roots, plants such as trees, And all kinds of gems, although they are not separated from the land, also have the ability to generate faults and merits, but after separating from the land, for these juices, When all sentient beings enjoy what they want, these juices have greater power than before, just like this. Compared to living wild animals, the skin after death has greater power. In particular, the three animals of humans, horses, and dogs, compared to being alive, the corpse after death has greater faults. In particular, the corpse of a dog will turn into a fault, and the fault of dog skin is very large, just like just now As mentioned earlier, keep it in mind, children! Cut off the root of self-grasping samsara and realize selflessness and emptiness.
