Maha Shramana Svaha! Om Supratishtha Vajra Svaha! Mangalam! In the Instruction on the Perfection of Wisdom, the Cutting of Demons, the Eighth Common Limb. Homage to all the noble lamas. Taking refuge, vast offerings, Separating matter and awareness, implanting instructions, This nectar of the noble one's mouth, May benefit sentient beings. However, it is the realm of practice for the fortunate, For the unfortunate, it is a great threat. First, pleasing the lama, Protecting vows and diligently practicing, May the instructions that descend like lightning be shown. Demons are divided into two types, Demons with obstacles and demons without obstacles, However, there is no demon greater than the demon of pride. On appearance and emptiness, If the pride of mind does not arise, Then all demons are cut into the mind without exception. The mind, in the unborn realm, Vanishes. All demons arise from the mind, The mind is without inherent existence. Appearance, existence, gods, and demons, Without inherent existence, they are liberated in their own place. If the nature of the mind is realized, Then the initial rebuke is the instruction. It should be known from the lama's mouth. On appearance and emptiness, Awareness is unattached and free, Do not meditate directly, do not grasp the mind. Let the senses be free and remain in a greater state. On what is inherently within oneself, By knowing one's own face, appearance and existence are self-liberated. For example, seeing a mirage as water, When one goes there, it is like there is no water. Gods, nagas, and deteriorations, If one recreates them, they cannot exist. Why? Because it is one's own mind. Then remain without pride. How can one find Dharma by seeking Dharma? If the seeker's entity is not established, Emaho! On all the Dharmas that arise from oneself, Attachment and grasping are very wonderful! Because it is established in oneself, everything is not established, In the appearance of self-grasping, everything also appears, But it cannot be stopped by various prohibitions. Like a dream world, Like it does not appear when awake. Being free from pride is like waking up. Ignorance and the mind of philosophical tenets, Staying with oneself and seeking elsewhere, Holding one's own mind as a ghost, Fearing oneself, suffering oneself, Attaching the mind to an object is a mistake. Staying in one's own place is definitely liberation. Staying without fabrication is Suchness.

This is the first part. Having requested instructions from the mother and son, and having requested, the demon was trampled. Since the basis of both demons and gods is the same, how could offering and abandoning exist? This impossible dharma, recognize the self-nature that is not recognized. Buddhas are in the hearts of sentient beings, thinking it is impossible, but it actually exists, now settle it. Black and charcoal are one, not different. Like this, the wise yogi is the same as the Buddha and sentient beings. The Dharmakaya without pride is like the ocean, pride is like the waves of the ocean. Like this, the wise yogi, pride and the object of pride are not different. The eighty-four thousand dharmas all arise from the manifestation of the mind, and are deep or shallow depending on the difference in wisdom. The arising stage has nine vehicles. Even if divided into nine vehicles, it is still the mind, since there is no dharma other than the mind, dharma is the thought of wisdom. Hoping for Buddhahood in dharma is bondage, why? Because it is originally Buddha. For example, a road is not needed where one has already arrived. The nature of mind is originally pure, there is no need to meditate on emptiness and quiescence. Quiescence is originally self-nature quiescence, emptiness is emptiness, there is no need to meditate on emptiness. Holding onto appearance and emptiness, pulling out the peg, one can reach the Dharmadhatu. Fire cannot extinguish fire, without destroying conceptualization with an antidote, settling will liberate, without a doubt. For example, like the knot of a peacock feather, if it is certain that appearance is real, the reversal of the appearance of death is impossible. If it is certain that this mind is truly existent, how could all the Sugatas and each individual see it? The nature of mind is like this, it is impossible to see the Buddha, for example like the horn of a rabbit. Attachment to mere imputation binds, having been bound before, it still binds, and continues to bind until liberation is not attained. Therefore, appearance and existence are merely imputed, do not be attached to imputed dharmas. Not being attached to appearance eliminates the extreme of permanence, not keeping emptiness in mind eliminates the extreme of annihilation, free from hope and doubt. Emaho! There is nothing that can be grasped forever, there is nothing that can be annihilated, everything is clear. Self-empty, self-luminous, it is certain that there is no maker. This is the second part that cannot be grasped with an antidote. This instruction of the mother and son, this which is called "the cutting field of demons," is the heart's blood of the wise, the source of liberation for the fortunate ones.
