Now, let go. Look inward at awareness. Let go together in a state of non-recollection. If that doesn't pacify it, observe how much it can scatter, and let it scatter to all places, inside and out. Having let go like that, awareness will not find a place to return to and will vanish together. Sinking and excitement, which of the two is the greater fault? Sinking is the greater fault. Why? Because sinking is mostly ignorance, while excitement is mostly wisdom. Therefore, on the basis of recognizing the nature of reality, the power of letting go together turns all faults into virtues. If awareness scatters to external objects, that is all part of excitement. Therefore, it is very important to hold it with mindfulness. One should abide in a state of mind without elaboration. That is to say, saying "form is emptiness" or saying "not emptiness" etc., are elaborations of a Bodhisattva. Thus it is said. After that, one should practice the meaning of the nature of reality without elaboration, without distraction. In general, whenever adverse conditions arise, gather all phenomena into your own body, gather the body into the mind, and release the mind into the dharmadhatu, that is the key instruction. By abiding in a state that does not stray from the dharmadhatu, awareness will be grasped, and will vanish together with bliss. Uncommon experiences will arise. This is turning suffering into happiness. By cutting all maras in dharmata and meditating on it, three kinds of warmth will arise: the warmth of the outer practice, one will not feel the existence of the body, and one will be free from illness; the warmth of the inner sign, one will not feel the breath moving in and out, and no conceptual thoughts will arise; the warmth of the secret bodhicitta, the nature of mind will naturally merge into its own nature, and great bliss will arise continuously. After that, if the meaning of clarity and emptiness arises in the continuum without being mistaken, then there will be no difficulty in attaining the fruit of omniscience. By practicing in this way, the bardo will be naturally mastered. That is to say, because the naturally abiding bardo is now, one should become familiar with it at this very moment, and regard all obstacles of maras as an encouragement for practice, or as a companion of the Dharma, and practice continuously. When there are no good or bad thoughts in the mind, and one simply abides in a state that does not stray from dharmata, the present bardo will be mastered. If you practice in this way, then in the dream state

If you recognize dreams as the nature of reality, and upon waking, you don't notice it, but remain in a clear, limpid state of the uncontrived nature of reality, then you have mastered the dream bardo. By becoming accustomed to this, continue to practice. At the time of death, if you are seized by a severe illness and don't know whether you are standing or lying down, but the appearances have not faded, and you know that you are about to die, you must make a firm decision. If you are capable through practice, do it directly. If you are not capable, take refuge and generate bodhicitta in your mind. Pray and offer your body as a sacrifice. Let your mind be without attachment or clinging in the state of reality, without fear, shyness, doubt, or hesitation. Meditate in this way, and leave your experience undistracted in the state of the nature of reality. Without pride or attachment to anything, let your mind remain steadily in the unchanging state of reality. If you breathe your last, then you have mastered the death bardo. Immediately after breathing your last, recognize the meaning of the natural state, the essence of unbornness, which appears to all sentient beings, and abide in the state of reality. As soon as you gain stability in that, let your mind settle in its own place in the sky-like expanse of the unborn and unceasing nature. From that state, accomplish the benefit of beings through the two form bodies, taming each according to their needs. This is how you master the becoming bardo, cutting off the city of the womb, and transforming samsara into the nature of reality. Names for this are: rest, cessation, expiration, doing, acting, exhaustion of outflows, laying down the burden, accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, arhat. These are the instructions for placing meditation in the natural state. Fifth, the instructions for not falling into the realm of demons in view have two aspects: recognizing demons and cutting off demons in the nature of reality and transforming them into the path. First, there are two: root demons and branch demons. There are four root demons: the demon of the aggregates, the demon of the son of the gods, the demon of afflictions, and the demon of death. There are eighteen branch demons: the demon of attachment to manifestation when practicing enlightenment; the demon of miracles when dispelling obstacles; the demon of tangible objects with attachment; the demon of intangible mind without attachment; the demon that distracts from qualities; the demon of pride in experience; the demon of cunning intelligence; the demon of subtle thoughts; the demon of arrogance and pride; the demon of jealousy and criticizing others; knowledge
