That suffering, that enemy and friend, that wealth, that self and other, That hope and doubt, that clean and unclean, whatever fear and anxiety arise, know that all are in your own mind. The mind is without support, abide in the state of great self-liberation, and everything is liberated without distinction. At that time, all dualistic appearances will be resolved into non-duality. Again, meditate as before, the yidam deity shows prophecies, the assembly of gods and goddesses offer worship, all good forms of desirable qualities appear, whether in reality or in dreams, all pleasing states appear, and various experiences and signs of warmth appear, but do not have a happy mind, know that all are the play of Dharma. Know that practice is only an encouragement of merit, expand the mind in the great clarity of Dharma, in the state of empty clarity of awareness, the mind does not move, but remains still. By this, practice will improve, and in the state of bliss and emptiness, awareness will remain without roots, and then the demon of joy will be cut off without birth. Also, in the various appearances of the six realms, the happiness of the three higher realms Various manifestations of suffering, and when the manifestations of suffering of the three lower realms appear, know that all are manifestations of your own mind. Know that from the very beginning, it has never arisen. Know that the essence of the unborn is naturally luminous. Without fear, anxiety, mind, and thoughts, the mind is placed in its own way on reality. When consciousness abides in the self nature of bliss, emptiness, and clarity, the demon of disturbing emotions will be naturally liberated. Also, from the Great Mother, "Whatever son or daughter of a family holds this Perfection of Wisdom, recites, carries, reads, comprehends, and properly attends to it, whether he or she dwells in a steep valley, cliff, bird's nest, or abyss, there is no fear or anxiety towards the forces of demons. Why is that? Because they are without pride." It is also said, "One should meditate on external emptiness in a way that does not focus on it." Thus, from the perspective of the unceasing appearance, one should practice abiding without fear or anxiety in all the happiness, suffering, and miracles that occur.

Having settled into that and practiced it, all appearances arise as friends and strengths of reality. If faults arise from meditation, there are two faults of meditation: sinking and excitement. Sinking is: the sign of sinking of the elements, the sign of sinking of obstacles. Among these, the sign of sinking of the elements: if the body is heavy and awareness is unclear, it is the sign of sinking of earth. If awareness is unclear and one shivers with cold, it is the sign of sinking of water. If awareness is unclear and one is arrogant and wants to move, it is the sign of sinking of wind. If the mind is confused and does not understand, if there is heat and dust arises, it is the sign of sinking of fire. Thus, whichever of the four elements causes sinking, one should stand up abruptly, straighten the body, bring the feet together, join the palms at the crown of the head, and dissolve the four outer elements of the body into the four inner elements. Dissolve the four outer and inner elements into non-duality. Release the mind suddenly into the sky, awareness without support, consciousness without object. In the expanse of great non-conceptual self-clarity, settle clearly and brightly, and the sinking will be gone. As it says in the Mother Tantra: Earth is not in water, it is not perceived. Earth is not in form, it is not perceived. Earth is not between forms, it is not perceived. And again: Reality abides in the mind. Space does not abide in anything. Mind itself abides in space. And: Meditating on space is meditating on the Perfection of Wisdom. Thus, having cleared away sinking, bring awareness back to its natural state and settle together. The second is the sign of sinking of mental dullness: excessive sleep, dull awareness. Or the heart is unhappy, the mind does not abide in its natural state, and breathing becomes heavy. For this, pray to the lama, take refuge, and give the body, illness, and thoughts all to the demons. In a frightening place, strip naked and jump around. Twist the body, moan, bake, and after doing all the exorcism practices one can think of, relax the body and mind, and awareness will disappear together. This is how to cure sinking. The second fault of meditation is excitement: the mind does not abide in its natural state, and awareness wanders outwards. The remedy for this is to set up a guard of mindfulness, and by looking at the instigator of wandering, when one recognizes that the instigator is in one's own mind, one should suddenly abandon all thoughts and stop thinking.
