Let it be freely expansive. Let awareness be transcendent and without support. Let it be unconnected. Break down knowledge into comfortable fragments. Joy fades away. Warmth buzzes. In a state where the sky and knowledge are mixed together, awareness is empty and clear. Knowledge is kept clear and bright. By keeping it that way, as a sign that awareness is grasped, there is throbbing, trembling, fear, agitation, jumping, convulsions, making various sounds, and experiencing whatever pleases in the presence of the lama, thus experiences arise. If experiences arise, then in any of the four modes of conduct, one should continuously remain in that state. Seeing that very state as the ultimate nature of reality. Meditating without straying from that state. Knowing how to take everything into the ultimate nature of reality through that state is conduct. Realizing all phenomena as one and becoming equal is the result. Thus, no matter what arises in the body, such as illness, suffering, or attachment, one should know how to transform it into the path. Fourth, meditation placed on the natural state is: first, having received the lama's instructions and having received blessings. The place of meditation is: a charnel ground, or a great forest, or in a thicket, or under a single tree, or in ruins, or in an old temple, or in the middle of a lake, or on a snowy mountain, or in a place where gods and demons are powerful. The meditation is: loosen the knowledge that was previously tightened, and let it go. Just leave it. Also, as Machik Labdrön said: "Tighten it tightly, then loosen it. Shatter it to pieces, then release it. Loosen it completely, then leave it. The place of meditation is there." Therefore, do not grasp the body as the body, like a pile of grass with a broken rope, softly, completely, without hope or fear, rest. Let the mind rest in its own state, without fear or shyness. In the state of the six senses, no matter what appears, rest without arrogance or conceptualization. The mind rests without hesitation or doubt. Knowledge rests in a state of blissful ease, clear and bright. By the blessings of resting in this way, fierce gods and demons cannot bear it, and various miracles occur. If this happens, it is a sign that the mind is grasped and has blessings. If fear arises when miracles occur, it is a sign that the mind is distracted. Therefore, immediately give the body to the gods and demons without hesitation, and let the mind relax, and rest in the vast expanse of awareness. Fear
