It is not knowing how to cultivate the roots of virtue of union. After this, it is called "compassion becoming an enemy." Without the ability to benefit others, doing things to benefit others is like spoiling and sending autumn, which is prohibited by the Great Treasury of Teachings. Therefore, beginners, even if they do not have the ability to benefit others, should always think of benefiting others. Whoever has the thought of benefiting others, he actually enters the ranks of benefiting others. Like this, use the mind to benefit others, and use actions to accomplish one's own benefit. Also, it is called "cause and effect becoming an enemy." From the perspective of worldly right view, cause and effect are not false, but in reality, apart from worldly appearances, neither cause nor effect are truly existent. Therefore, if one does not understand this point and clings to cause and effect as real, it will also become an obstacle to the path of practice. Therefore, do not fall into the three enemies, etc., and understand that self-nature is unborn and appearance is unceasing. In this way, in the relative, nothing is abandoned, and in the ultimate, nothing is clung to. Non-clinging is the path of union. Seventh, clinging is a demon, therefore it is taught not to seek anything: "Whatever you cherish and cling to is a demon, therefore, your own body and all appearances, return to the dharmadhatu with non-dual awareness." This means that for the realization of the view, clinging to obstructive objects is the greatest demon, therefore one must abandon clinging to obstructive objects. Eighth, it is taught to take everything as a symbol of cutting: All realms of cutting, such as gods and demons, know that they are symbols of practicing skills. This means that one relies on unobstructed demons to practice the skills of practice. Ninth, repeatedly emphasize that non-cessation is self-liberated: Gods, nagas, diseases, plagues, terrible demons, because they are not truly existent, are illusions of the mind, and are naturally liberated. The meaning of this passage is that one should know that everything is mind, and one should settle the mind in a state of non-clinging. From here to the cutting of obstructive demons, including a brief explanation, the second general meaning ends. The third general meaning is about the view of no-mind Confidence, which has two: First, determine the self-liberation of no-object: From one's own unwavering confidence, there is no external change. Second, establish the certainty of no birth and no cessation: The unceasing appearance is self-nature, and unborn wisdom is the certainty of all things. These two explain that appearance and mind are non-dual.
