Although it is said that, nowadays, those who practice Chö cannot cut off the fierce places without strong visualization. If they could, then even mountain bandits and mountain jackals and wild animals could cut off the fierce places. It seems that some people say that. That is not correct, because yogis have the practice of Prajñāpāramitā, so they can cut off the fierce places. One should remember the immeasurable blessings and benefits of Prajñāpāramitā spoken of in the extensive, intermediate, and concise Mother Sutras and countless other sutras. Similarly, space does not disturb space, outer space does not disturb inner space, inner space does not disturb outer space. This is said in the extensive Mother Sutra. Or abide as in space, like space without conceptualization, let go without conceptualization. Like space without clinging, relax without clinging. Like space without hope and fear, abide without hope and fear. Like space without self-grasping, release self-grasping. Like space without arrogance, do not be arrogant about anything. Thus it is said. The meaning of the words is easy to understand, and the meaning of these is said in the extensive Mother Sutra: Form is dependent on space, and it does not go beyond space and its dependence. Starting from the five aggregates, it is spoken of in connection with all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana. It is also said: Form is the nature of space, teaching the Dharma to sentient beings. Thus, it is extensively spoken of in connection with the five aggregates, etc. Thus, knowing all dharmas to be like space, one abides in that state. Third, recognizing miracles as one's own nature, that is: Do not follow the conceptual thoughts of the mind, regard outer miracles as one's own nature. Thus it is. Through these three, the demon of unobstructedness is cut off, and next is the cutting off of the demon of joy and elation, which is divided into two: First, identifying common accomplishments as demons and cutting them off, that is: Blessings, magical powers, qualities, Dharma, fame, reverence, inner and outer signs, clairvoyance, prophecies, all common accomplishments, regard them as demons and transform them into treasures. Thus it is said. If pride and arrogance arise towards these, that is a demon, so abandon attachment and know them to be like illusions and dreams.
