without sharpness, like a sword without a sharp edge. Practicing view and conduct in union, subduing the maras, is like a brave warrior knowing skills and subduing the enemy forces. That is, in the Compendium it says, for example, a wise person who possesses all qualities. From there, they go happily and return home again. With this metaphor, similarly, at that time, the wise Bodhisattva also, generates great compassion for all sentient realms, and also greatly transcends the four maras and the two grounds. As it is said. Fifth, cutting off pride and becoming a Buddha is Emaho! etc., three verses. That is, if one realizes that being free from all grasping, one will become a Buddha. As it is said in the Perfection of Wisdom, whoever has passed away and whoever is the protector of the ten directions, learning this mantra will become the unsurpassed king of medicine. As it is said. Everything should be established as without inherent existence. Joy and pride together have two types, common and supreme. The first has two types, if one is attached to accomplishments, then it is a mara, that is, joy, etc., five verses. That is, attachment to warm signs and temporary results, that is the mara. If there is no attachment, then it is an ornament, that is, no attachment, etc., two verses. That is, on the nature that is separate from the apprehended and the apprehender, the unobstructed power arises, that is the ornament. That is, in the Compendium it says, the example of magical power, similarly, the wise Bodhisattva abides in emptiness, wisdom and magical power reach the other shore and do not abide, for beings they show infinite kinds of activities, for countless eons without weariness or fatigue. As it is said. The second supreme has two types, showing joy as a mara, that is, the three bodies, etc., two verses. That is, for those who abide in the nature of the three bodies, if they have other hopes and doubts, that is the mara. As it is said. If one knows that, there is no pride, that is, samsara is self-liberated, etc., eight verses. That is, knowing that samsara and nirvana are self-liberated, from thoughts and discriminations liberated as without inherent existence, because there is no other antidote to be practiced, so please cut off pride. Furthermore, mara

Those forms should be understood in detail from the chapter on demons in the Perfection of Wisdom. Since the root of those is also conceptual thought, one should cut it off and meditate on it. Up to this point, the benefits of the practice of those below the path of joining have been explained. The second general meaning, determined by way of example, is divided into five points: explanation by example, view, meditation, conduct, and result. The first is divided into two: if one is not ashamed of the lineage, it is bondage. It is explained by six lines of verse such as "By example." Those who have received this instruction should not do things for the benefit of others until they themselves are liberated, like the example of the bird and the autumn harvest. It shows that it is difficult for oneself and others to be liberated. If one realizes oneself, it will benefit others, explained by six lines of verse such as "Good writing." If a person realizes the absence of inherent existence, then the benefit of sentient beings will naturally arise, like the example of a cow. One should realize the absence of inherent existence oneself. This is what is said. As it is said in the Collection: If sentient beings generate the notion of suffering, thinking of abandoning suffering for the benefit of beings, that bodhisattva is completely attached to self and sentient beings, this is not the supreme practice of the Perfection of Wisdom. It is said. To do altruistic deeds that are characteristic, one must know the self as non-existent, and also know sentient beings as such, and like sentient beings, the antidote to afflictions, the Dharma, must also be known as such. As it is said in the Collection: How I am, so I know all sentient beings. How all sentient beings are, so I know all dharmas. Not distinguishing between non-arising and arising, this is the supreme practice of the Perfection of Wisdom. Because it is said so. Second, the view is divided into two: one should realize that the demons are completely destroyed. It is explained by eleven lines of verse such as "Great Garuda." This is also to transform into the meaning of selflessness, to realize the two kinds of selflessness. From self-liberation, knowing that the four demons are completely destroyed, and obtaining the sign of non-retrogression, one will gain complete victory over the demons, like the example of the great Garuda. If one does not realize it in this way, then the actions will become insignificant, like the example of the tree. Knowing this way can determine, explained by six lines of verse such as "eradication."
