There is none. Master Naropa said, "All dharmas reside in the mind." Because it is said, "The root of dharma is mind itself." If one does not realize the nature of mind as it is, even if one practices for kalpas, one will not attain it. Without hoping for the path and the fruit, cutting off all clinging to self of phenomena and persons, Buddhahood cannot be attained from elsewhere. Regarding the maras of conceit, there are two. The brief indication is: the two lines of verse such as dividing the maras into four are easy to understand. The detailed explanation has three: the maras with obstacles gathered into conceit, the unobstructed gathered into conceit, and joy and attachment gathered into conceit. The first has two: showing objects not grasped by view as maras, that is, the two lines of verse such as grasping at objects are: the sense consciousnesses are grasped by delusion, clinging to object and subject, it becomes a mara with obstacles. Knowing that the root is severed is: the fifteen lines of verse such as objects are objects, etc., are: when one realizes that all the conceptual thoughts summarized by the grasped and the grasper are conceit, one realizes that the grasped object consciousness is without grasping. Cutting off conceit cuts off the four maras. For example, just as extinguishing the fire inside the room, the smoke in the wall cracks will naturally disappear. This is also not like the cessation or the pacification of the Hearers, merely blocking the appearance of objects, but the appearance of objects such as form, etc., its essence abides in the emptiness of dharmata, like a rainbow in the sky, appearing but without inherent existence. The noble ones see with great certainty, and ordinary people can also investigate and analyze through scripture and reasoning, and it is so. The Heart Sutra says, "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form." For example, a magician does not develop attachment to sound. Therefore, realizing that the four maras arising from conceit within are unreal, it is not something that can be cut off by the mind of dualistic grasping, but by realizing that objects and grasping have severed the root, forms, etc., are liberated in their own place, this is the Prajnaparamita. Therefore, abide in the state of non-dualistic grasping. The unobstructed gathered into conceit, the root is from conceit

The method of identifying the five juvenile demons is: explained with six lines of verse such as "unobstructed." That is to say, the five poisons and other things that turn into hopes are the demons of arrogance. So it is said. Second, liberation from arrogance leads to liberation from the six realms and realization of the five wisdoms: explained with twenty-two lines of verse such as "anger is self-liberated." That is to say, as mentioned above, in the case where obstructive arrogance gathers, knowing that the differentiated mind is rootless, the five afflictions are naturally liberated, the suffering of the six realms is naturally purified, and the five afflictions are transformed into the five wisdoms. If we distinguish in detail, taking affliction and anger as the cause, experiencing the suffering of hell, because it is arrogance, relying on realizing that it is rootless, we can obtain mirror-like wisdom. Similarly, desire and hungry ghosts, and the three wisdoms of individual observation; ignorance and animals, and the three wisdoms of the Dharmadhatu; jealousy and humans and gods, and the three wisdoms of accomplishment; pride and asuras, and the three wisdoms of equality. Combine as above. Therefore, arrogance is naturally liberated, which is the Prajnaparamita. So it is said. Third, fearlessness is explained by way of example: explained with thirteen lines of verse such as "that is also." This is a special teaching, because all differentiated thoughts are demons, so they must be cut off. For example, like a lion living in the snowy mountains, without timidity or fear, destroying arrogance and staying in a state of non-reality, no internal or external obstacles will arise. Even if it arises, it will surely turn into an opportunity for training, because that is one's own magical power. So, do you cut off the thought and then meditate? It is not like that, whatever arises, cut it off as unreal, and you will be able to overwhelm the Hinayana and so on, let alone diseases and demons. Therefore, this method of cutting off from the root is particularly excellent. So it is said. Fourth, even if you realize it but do not cut it off, you will be bound: explained with seven lines of verse such as "even if you realize it." That is to say, some people, although they realize that things are unreal as mentioned above, if they do not practice the combination of view, practice, and conduct, then they are attached to reality and difference.
