Me. He, with the power of unbroken attachment to this life, for the person who rejoices in the Dharma of Samsara, with the edge of action, things cannot be accomplished, because whatever one does requires certain conditions, therefore, There is no grasp on the work, because one is for the other. For example, just as having a horse requires a saddle. If you look inward, things that are not grasped have no result, because they cannot escape suffering. If you are not satisfied with worldly affairs, then Dharma cannot be accomplished. The Dharma that does not turn away from Samsara, please understand that it is not the Dharma of the Noble Ones. Practicing Dharma in this life and in the next life Achieving enlightenment, these two, gathering together cannot coexist, the trivial matters of this life are unnecessarily introduced. As it is said in the Vajra Song: Alas, the cause of generating Samsara, what is extremely subtle thing? Manifestation deceives, the eye that is good at deceiving, after seeing with extremely sharp eyes, the seeds of afflictions are well nourished, and habits become strong and increase. For those who have unbroken attachment to this life, the path to liberation is turned away. So it is said. The seventh is to show the seed produced by cause. It is difficult to cut off the mind that is greedy for sensual pleasures, which means that attachment is difficult to cut off with fierce means. The cause of generating sensual pleasures is sensual pleasure itself, because the more one enjoys, the more the mind of greed increases. For those who are greedy for things, it is like drinking salt water, but instead it becomes a friend, so it is difficult to cut off. How is it difficult to cut off? For the mind that is greedy for form, it is like a moth greedy for the light of a lamp and throwing itself into it, it is difficult to cut off. For the mind that is greedy for sound, even if it knows that the hunter will kill itself because of it, it will still be addicted to the sound of the flute, it is difficult to cut off. For those who are greedy for smell, it is like a bee not abandoning the fragrance of ghee, it is difficult to cut off. For those who are greedy for taste, it is like a mouse not abandoning the sugar cane tree, it is difficult to cut off. For those who are greedy for touch, it is like an elephant infatuated with a corpse, it is difficult to cut off. Therefore, because of attachment to the five sensual pleasures of form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, one will be bound, thereby ripening the cause of Samsara. How to do it? For the things that are greedy, one will become more attached. More attachment will

Depending on it, stinginess arises. Depending on stinginess, possession arises. Depending on possession, protection arises. Depending on protection, conflict arises. Depending on conflict, suffering arises. From suffering arises the sting of craving. The sting of ignorance. The sting of desire. The sting of hatred. The sting of delusion. The sting of pride. The sting of jealousy and other stings, thus being separated from happiness. From the drop of meditation it is said: Just like butterflies, wild animals, and, bees, fish, and elephants, Whatever one craves, one is bound by it. That is like drinking salty water. So it is said! Eighth, this shows that on the path of distraction, one's life ages but one does not see it, being a blind person. The so-called herdsman fool who does not realize that two-thirds of his life has passed, refers to the time of the five degenerations and strife, or assuming that the lifespan of sixty years has already declined, two-thirds of one's life is considered to be forty-three years old. At fifty years old, life begins to decline, people whose bodies age but whose minds do not realize it will not be young again, not realizing that half of their age has passed, they are a hundred times more foolish than the herdsman fool, and many things appear on their bodies. What appears? The teeth in the mouth loosen like the weft threads of coarse cloth, and the gaps in between become wide. Wrinkles on the face spread like cracks in a small house. The radiance of the face fades like frost on a flower. The skin on the chest sags like the bottom of leather that has been rubbed and broken. White-haired guests appear on the head, but one does not realize that it is a sign of aging, a harbinger of death, so they are called herdsman fools. Since the aging of the upper jaw teeth is a neighbor of death, if one has thoughts, there is no way not to remember the Dharma. On the path of distraction, one's life is exhausted but one does not realize it, that is the herdsman fool. Unable to stay for a day, not realizing that the years are stealing life, that is the herdsman fool. Not realizing that aging has crept up, that is the herdsman fool. Knowing that the Dharma is needed, but spending one's life on doing it tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, then this life will encounter a time of wasting time. Then death will come like lightning, and for those who do not realize that nothing other than the Dharma can be abandoned, do not rely solely on the herdsman fool to measure.
