If instructions are spread on the ground, it is like children playing. If all things have the emblem of the Garuda, it is not surprising. If rare things are not shown, they cannot become supreme. If the nectar from the guru's mouth is not regarded as one's own essence and cherished, but is allowed to leak out, then one is a bad holder. How does it leak out? A bad holder cannot keep secrets. Revealing secret words in the mouth, flaunting hidden things to others, vomiting before being satisfied, blunting the chisel of practice, rising from the cushion without tasting the flavor. These become faults. Now these faults will descend. Explaining is like the means of a blacksmith. Because a bad holder cannot keep precious secrets, the causes of obstacles increase. Because of the increase, practice cannot be completed. Because of its fault, the desired meaning cannot be manifested. Because a bad holder proclaims secrets to those who are not vessels, one suffers downfall. Because of suffering downfall, experience decreases. Because of its fault, the wisdom of realization does not arise. Because a bad holder flaunts hidden things to others, one's own treasury becomes empty. Because of emptiness, one cannot be separated from desire. Because of its fault, the view will be lost at the end of thought. Because a bad holder vomits before being satisfied, the increase of experience is interrupted. Because of interruption, one's own continuum remains in a common state. Because of its fault, practice does not improve. The wealth of blessings with lineage, the wealth of wisdom from extensive learning, the wealth of the degree of realization from understanding meaning, the wealth of instructions from knowing the essential points, the wealth of blessings from being intoxicated by practice, the wealth of faith from turning away from samsara, the wealth of vows from pure vows, etc., are the seven inner jewels. A bad holder of these jewels is one who does not possess guarding one's own continuum, not cherishing the inner essence, allowing the essence to leak out, because one is not a vessel for jewels, like not being able to bear the milk of a lion, wasting the jewels. Ah! One who does not guard is called bad. The bad way is as follows: If instructions are spread on the ground, it is like children playing.

Pouring out, the chisel of practice wears down, speaking loftily without experience. These become faults, and now these sins descend. Explaining should be like the means of a blacksmith. The bad self cannot bear the precious seal, the causes of obstacles increase, and because of the increase, practice cannot be completed. Because of this fault, the desired thing cannot manifest. The bad self proclaims secrets to those who are not vessels, downfall descends, and because of the descent, experience diminishes. Because of this fault, the wisdom of realization cannot arise. The bad self flaunts what is hidden to others, one's own treasury becomes empty, and because of the emptiness, one cannot abandon desire. Because of this fault, the view is lost at the end of wisdom. The bad self pours out without being satisfied, the increase of experience ceases, and because of this cessation, one's own continuum remains in a mundane state. Because of this fault, experience cannot be enhanced. The bad self wears down the chisel of practice, practice becomes wavering, and because it becomes wavering, the foundation of practice is not stable. Because of this fault, realization remains at the level of understanding, and the necessity of Dharma is lost. The bad self speaks loftily without experience, signs do not appear at the time of the path, and because it is not related to the signs of the path, definite knowledge does not arise. Because of this fault, one cannot enter the truth of ultimate reality. Thus, the bad self becomes the root of faults, and therefore definite knowledge of Dharma does not arise. Therefore, the seven inner treasures are exhausted in this way. Because definite knowledge does not arise, the blessing of the lineage is interrupted, and because of this interruption, one cannot see the flaws of experience. Because definite knowledge does not arise, one does not use hearing for practice, the scope of hearing is narrow, and therefore one cannot measure the subtle aspects of the stainless. Because definite knowledge does not arise, one does not familiarize oneself with realization, and if realization is not completed, it remains at the level of understanding. Because definite knowledge does not arise, one cannot grasp the root of recognition, and if one does not recognize the key point, one cannot dig out the depths of meaning. Because definite knowledge does not arise, the wisdom of faith does not arise, and therefore experience is not related to blessing, and one cannot follow the benefit of others. Because definite knowledge does not arise, Disgust for confusion does not arise, therefore the mind does not return from samsara, and behavior cannot transcend the mundane. Because definite knowledge does not arise, one does not cherish discipline, and therefore if the vows to be protected are not pure, one cannot receive accomplishments from the deities. The bad self wears down the chisel of practice, practice
