Saying "Please bless" and prostrating is not genuine. If it is not initiated by devout faith, it is not a true intention. If one hopes that enemies or fears will not arise, or if one says "Please bless" and circumambulates to obtain incidental benefits for others, this is merely a superficial phenomenon and cannot enter the realm of blessing, just as a cold stone cannot adhere. The eighth is being ashamed of the dried-up warmth of practice. Blessings will eventually come. Saying "If you seek blessings, you might as well put a dung egg in your mouth" means that great devotion brings great blessings, medium devotion brings medium blessings, low devotion brings corresponding blessings, and no devotion brings no blessings. For example, it is like expecting rain in a cloudless sky. Saying "If you seek blessings, you might as well put a dung egg in your mouth" is not literal, but metaphorical. There are three different explanations for this. The first explanation is that if you put a dung egg in your mouth, just as worldly people regard dung as an impure thing, if a practitioner who desires liberation does the same thing, he will first be regarded as acting perversely by those who do not believe in Buddhism and will be ridiculed. Do not despise the noble path that has not been defiled, for the practitioner's own realization will increase as a result. Not mingling with the crowd is the nature of a yogi, so he will not be contaminated by worldly defilements. This is the practitioner's wish. The second explanation is that one should not regard a dung egg as food for a dead pig. If you put it in your mouth, it is like regarding it as food. Here, the yogi does not regard the five conceptual thoughts as something to be abandoned, but rather treats all thoughts as food for the Dharma nature. The third explanation is that a dung egg is an impure thing, and when a Brahmin sees it, he will not generate desire for it. Therefore, it is important to keep the view free from desire, and naming it with the name of accomplishment is only a symbol of the view, not the view itself. It is not within the scope of nominal concepts, because it has been liberated from names.

If you do that, first you must send (yourself) to the place of feces and vomit seen by worldly people, that is, to a place of ridicule. Do not despise the lowly who have not climbed to high positions, and the yogi's own realization will increase even more. Not belonging to the crowd, that is the yogi's own place. Therefore, worldly defilements will not stain it; that is the wish of the practitioner. The second explanation is that a dung egg is not something a tomb pig should do, just as putting it in the mouth is like seeing it as food. Here, yogis do not regard the five discriminations as things to be abandoned, but rather treat all discriminations as food for the Dharma nature. The third explanation is that a dung egg is an impure thing, just as a Brahmin would not develop desire for it when he sees it. It is important that the view be free from desire, named after accomplishment, which is a symbol of the view, but not the view itself. It is not within the realm of linguistic terms, because it is liberated from names. Or it is called non-proliferation, Madhyamaka, or Mahamudra. Do not cling to "what this is," and if you recognize it, you cannot cling to it. If you understand its meaning, you will lose your way. If duality dissolves, there is no flaw. The flawless experience cannot be expressed, because there are no letters in the true ultimate. The view cannot be put into the mouth; what is put into the mouth is the extreme of thought, so it is not the view. From the Treasury of Precious Wisdom: The meaning of the discriminations of yogis, because it cannot be determined, cannot be spoken. Transcending the extremes of permanence and annihilation, there is no negation or affirmation. Dharma nature is inconceivable, like space. For example, when a Brahmin sees a dung egg, he knows that it should not be put in the mouth. Similarly, here, practice without desire is essential. Practice without expectation will not be disturbed by demons. Or it is called non-proliferation, Madhyamaka, or Mahamudra. Do not cling to "what this is," and if you recognize it, you cannot cling to it. If you understand its meaning, you will lose your way. If duality dissolves, there is no flaw.
