When asked to the Lama, he said: The root of creating happiness and suffering, which becomes the seed of samsara and nirvana, refers to the cause of creating samsara, which is karma. The cause of karma arising is affliction. The cause of affliction arising is conceptual thought. To eliminate it, non-conceptualization is necessary. When asked what is the cause of non-conceptualization arising? He replied: It is the practice of seeing the Lama as a Buddha. The cause of it arising is definite knowledge. The cause of definite knowledge arising is faith. This is also in the testament: Faith and diligence are the basis of all qualities. It is of utmost importance, Dingriwa (place name). He said. In general, until one practices the main part of the cause, which is faith, there is a key point that has not become Dharma. This is because impermanence does not arise in the continuum until it is combined with the moisture of faith. One cannot generate aversion to the phenomena of samsara. Everything comes down to the root of not changing the mind of this life. Because impermanence has not arisen in the continuum, practice is robbed by laziness. False appearances are easy to become familiar with. Befriending the wrong path. Being stained by various habitual tendencies. Becoming a vengeful ghost in litigation. The practice of the cause, which is faith, will form a companion of diligence. Putting on the armor of diligence. The antidote also clings to it. Because there is the cause, which is faith, it can be turned around by the antidote. In general, to be liberated from samsara, the main part of the cause, which is faith, is highly valued. Please observe whether the Dharma that is not combined with faith is beneficial or not? One cannot be separated from afflictions even for a moment. Lama Dingriwa said: What is the difference between a practitioner who does not reduce attachment and aversion and an ordinary person? It is very important for the root, which is impermanence, to arise in the continuum. Once it arises in the continuum, it will put the future into consideration. For afflictions, the antidote will know to cling there. This is also in the testament: Afflictions When they arise, if the antidote does not arrive, the necessity of Dharma is lost, Dingriwa (place name). He said. If one allows afflictions to develop on their own, one is not a practitioner. If there is no definite knowledge, one will not receive the pith instructions. Its root also lies in faith, he said. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, literal meaning in Chinese) When asked: Is understanding that all phenomena are unborn a view? He replied: Unborn is the nature.

It is not possible to hold a view on understanding the way things are. The nature of things does not attach benefit or harm. For example, it is like knowing the name of the sky does not affect happiness or suffering. It is said that there is no need to understand the unborn. When asked what is meant by "view," it is said to mean realizing complete enlightenment by eradicating the root [of suffering]. When asked what is meant by "realizing complete enlightenment," it is said to mean that the mind reaches its limit, free from dependence and contact. To illustrate this, here is an example: 1. It is like prophesying that there is water in the Ganges River. 2. It is like desiring to drink water and striving to embark on a journey. 3. It is like seeing water birds and otters, thinking, "There might be water there." 4. It is like seeing the river with one's own eyes, free from doubt. 5. It is like reaching the water source and drinking, experiencing the power of water. When satisfied and no longer thirsty, the desire for water disappears from the mind. The power of water is fully realized, and this is called "realizing the complete enlightenment of water." Similarly, just as prophesying that there is water in the Ganges River is similar to hearing that there is Buddha-nature in the minds of sentient beings. Just as desiring to drink water and striving to embark on a journey is similar to desiring to attain Buddhahood and entering the path of practice. Just as seeing water birds and thinking, "There might be water there" is similar to the arising of warmth signs and the birth of certainty. Just as seeing the river with one's own eyes and being free from doubt is similar to eliminating the arrogance of the mind and destroying attachment. Just as reaching the water source and drinking, experiencing the power of water is similar to experiencing the taste of co-emergence. Just as being satisfied and no longer thirsty is similar to the awareness of dualistic appearances dissolving into its own place, thereby eradicating the root [of suffering]. This is realizing complete enlightenment beyond the mind. The so-called "view" refers to being liberated from the confines of the mind. This is also recorded in the testament: "Do not cling to any extreme, the so-called 'view' is false. Bring all phenomena to the place of cessation, Dingriwa." It is said that not following worldly things is the instruction of Lama Dingriwa. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) Om Svasti! When asked what the meaning of "clear light" is, ༄༅། །There are three distinctions: one is the clear light of the ground of reality, two is the clear light of the path during meditation, and three is the clear light of the ultimate result. The ground of reality
