Do. If you don't separate from the lama in mind training, you won't wander to foreign lands. In asceticism, don't look at worldly appearances. Mind training can be done in the marketplace. Asceticism requires staying alone, the kind lama said. When asked what the difference is between the subsequent and the result, it seems that the yoga of the subsequent is not fully explained in the scriptures. This is important, why is it important? Because all the key points of the instructions are not concealed, everyone separates the time of practice from the ordinary time, so the key to the knowledge not increasing lies in this. The subsequent is that the time of cutting off and the ordinary time are both regarded as part of the practice. Because there is no interval in between, it is called the yoga of continuous flow. Mind training and asceticism should be put first, therefore, the subsequent should be initiated from the opposite side. If subtle appearances are lost, then the antidote should be placed on the object, and the armor should be led by the subsequent, so that the consciousness of duality can be liberated immediately. When the object becomes the nature of reality and is not moved by conditions, then one is allowed to obtain the fruit yoga at once, the kind lama said. When asked if the subsequent has a protective boundary like mind training and asceticism, this does not have the three situations of leakage, dripping, and seepage. Because this is equal in taste, even if anger arises in the consciousness, the subsequent will not hold a grudge. Even if leakage arises, the subsequent will not carry away the afflictions. The antidote that is not placed on the object will not become the path, so unfavorable objects will promote the conditions for realization. The subsequent will be more powerful on the opposite side. The key to the instructions is that only this key can transform afflictions into the path. If not, how can afflictions become the path to liberation from samsara? We do not abandon afflictions, good conditions will promote, and leakage will accumulate the two accumulations. Therefore, the special feature of the instructions lies in the Acharya Lion of Men, the kind lama said. When asked whether the antidote is needed at the time of leakage in the result of the subsequent transcendence, this and tomorrow will be explained as practice. First, liberation from conditions, in the middle, mixed with conditions, and finally falling on conditions. Mind training and asceticism are in the initial stage, because they are not adapted, they cannot cope with conditions. Just like grass, fire, and wind, one needs to be careful.

One must be liberated from conditions. If one crosses those three stages and observes whether the antidote can overcome the conditions, the intermediate stage is when one mixes the conditions with it. There, if the consciousness of duality is not liberated and does not transform the environment into Dharmata, it is not mixed, but the view of realization becomes an image. In this stage, if one only loses the subtle environment, one needs a powerful antidote to make it grow. If one adjusts to the discordant environment and has no acceptance or rejection of the antidote, then saying that all dharmas are equal is just a name. Dual Union becomes a subtle obstacle, and the environment develops flaws, which is the reason for this. The final stage is to place it on top of the conditions, because it is the subsequent purification and the yoga of the fruition, so one must destroy the defenses of the antidote. If one clings to the antidote, even the eighth-level bodhisattva will fall into samsara. Because this is the time to entrust meditation to the master, one does not need to practice it anymore. If one does not transcend action, practice will become an obstacle. At this time, for all the leaks that arise, one accumulates them into the work of merit, and what can the antidote do? This is what the kind lama said. I asked whether mind training, asceticism, and the three after-practices are the same, and how long they take. This is not certain, but it seems that those who have practiced before and have karma are more important. It is said that in the presence of the venerable master, someone completed mind training in seven days. It is said that he was liberated simply by hearing that he was an incarnation. In the presence of the unborn Bodhicitta lama, it is said that a person named Smrazah Gzah Dge Sdron completed mind training in fifteen days. Because he is someone who will not regress from samsara, he was liberated simply by blessing. In a bad place, there was also a lama named Gshen Sgom Re Thul Can, who completed mind training in seven days. It is said that someone was liberated after nine days of asceticism. In short, special devotion to the lama can cut through both mind training and asceticism. If this devotion is mediocre, then practice will take a long time. If delusion does not follow the environment, then one does not need to cultivate the after-practice. In short, the kind lama said that the signs of the qualities of the fruition arise in this continuous process. I asked, what if one does not reach the self-ground of yoga and only practices the short after-practice? There are two ways to go about this. The after-practice goes without intention.
