One who does not know how to practice. A person whose mind has not turned away from the great methods of the world, holding to inferior conduct, does not know how to practice. The four roots of the meaning of the path, because one's own benefit has not been completed first, it is impossible to grasp with the activity of benefiting others. The person who says that view is unseeable, because he does not understand the flaw that view can be realized, does not recognize view and does not know how to practice. The person who says that meditation is unmeditable, because he does not understand the flaw that meditation can be habituated, does not know how to practice familiarity after recognizing meditation. The person who says that conduct is unconductable, ༄༅། །Because he does not understand the flaw that conduct is inseparable, he does not know how to practice not separating from conduct once it is familiar. The person who says that result is unachievable, because he does not understand the flaw that result can be manifested, does not know how to practice making the inseparable ripen and grow. That person who recognizes view must practice deciding with conviction. That person who is familiar with meditation must practice grasping with mindfulness. That conduct must be practiced inseparably, and must be done with mindfulness. That result that ripens and grows, must be practiced with swift effort. Jo Jo, it was said that few know how to practice enlightenment. Here, Tsur Gom Rinchen Wangchuk was asked: On the limit of compassion, why is there this restriction of teaching? The Lama said: Jo Jo, it is not stinginess with the Dharma. In this time of strife, people who are vessels are rare. He has not found a place to give the Dharma. The unfortunates are like a multitude of stars, the fortunate are as rare as the moon. To be suitable as a vessel for secret mantra, one needs a vessel of previous karma who has accumulated purification beforehand. This is not common. For example, like the milk of a white lion, if it is not a precious container, it cannot be contained by others. The oral teachings of the Lama, cannot be compared to the milk of a lion, it is like refined nectar. It cannot be given to just anyone. If given to an unsuitable vessel, one, it becomes a cause for abandoning the Dharma. If secrets are proclaimed to the immature, two, one will incur a root downfall. If the profound meaning falls into the hands of the unfortunate, three, it will become a place of punishment by the Dakinis. Giving the teachings of the practice lineage to a person who does not practice,

It's no different than giving molasses to a donkey. Just as fire cannot be lit in a blocked stove. For a person who has not separated from worldly affairs, the transcendent Dharma will not arise in their mind. Therefore, for a person who does not have the capacity for Dharma, the lama needs to be cautious in teaching. Because widely teaching the Dharma, there is fear that it will fall into the hands of those who are fond of Dharma. By giving Dharma, one also risks falling and becoming a place of shame for dakinis. To give Dharma, one needs to see the lama as a Buddha, see the instructions as nectar, see the teachings as jewels, and truly seek liberation. It is said that one should not easily teach Dharma to those who are only concerned with this life. If by being stingy with the Dharma, the benefit to beings is reduced, isn't that a problem? Lama, what is the benefit of widely teaching the Dharma? The disciple himself is not able to practice. Explaining the Dharma to someone who does not practice is like stuttering, and the listener will only feel their ears burning. If one cannot put it into practice, then the necessity of teaching the Dharma is lost. The offered flowers do not know to whom they should be offered. The most important thing is to serve the disciple well, because the most important thing is to please the guru through practice, which is respect. Secondly, it is to please the guru through conduct, which requires that the person's mind has matured, has no weariness in faith, has no laziness in diligence, and has the devotion to see the guru as a Buddha. Finally, it is to please the guru through material offerings, which requires being in harmony with oneself, in harmony with the guru, and in harmony with fame. A stingy person cannot practice. Without requesting the core teachings, there is no need for core service. This is the universal rule that applies to anyone who wants to learn any knowledge. If one does not put in effort and hard work, even if the guru gives it, it will not benefit oneself or others. Therefore, one must offer unwavering trust to the guru. Because in the visible Dharma, there is the greatness of the dependent arising of experience. Being stingy with the Dharma is not because of small compassion, but a symbol of one's own effort. Those translators who went to southern India and Nepal were not allowed to easily learn Dharma from Indian Brahmins, because they valued the Dharma very much. There is a way to learn Dharma, and there is a way to rely on a guru. Those who have not seen and done, have great courage to study Dharma.
