With ‘Ja’ (seed syllable, Tibetan: ཛཿ, Devanagari: जः, Romanized Sanskrit: jaḥ, literal Chinese meaning: birth) and the iron hook mudra, invite the fire deity of vow from one's own heart to the wisdom fire deity; with ‘Hum’ (seed syllable, Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: wrath) and the vajra mudra, establish; with ‘Bam’ (seed syllable, Tibetan: བཾ, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: water) and the lasso mudra, bind; with ‘Hoh’ (seed syllable, Tibetan: ཧོཿ, Devanagari: होः, Romanized Sanskrit: hoḥ, literal Chinese meaning: joy) and the bell mudra, please; with ‘Hi’ (seed syllable, Tibetan: ཧི, Devanagari: हि, Romanized Sanskrit: hi, literal Chinese meaning: cause) and the staff mudra, make it of equal taste. After visualizing thus, exhale from oneself, and at the same time, with the iron hook mudra, invite the inner fire deity into the stove, reciting: ‘Om Agnaye Maha Teja Sarva Karmartha Sadhaka Karunya Kritva Sattvartham Asmin Sanni Hito Bhava’. Then, with the thumb pressing down on the vajra fist mudra, merge the fire deity of the heart into the fire deity of the stove. Next, invite the entrants, etc., as it is said. Therefore, the external fire deity should be invited, reciting: (‘Om Come Come Great Being, Fire Deity Hermit Twice-Born Supreme, Great Radiance Holder of Weapons, Here Now Truly Please.’) ‘Om Ehi Ehi Maha Bhuta Deva Rivi Dvi Ja Satva Magri Tva Yudham Maha Rasmi Sanni Hito Bhava Vajra Dhara Ajna Paya Ti Svaha’. From the southeast of Mount Meru, invite the fire deity together with the assembly of hermits, and have them reside at the opening of the stove. After offering incense, torma, and offering water, as before, perform invitation, establishment, binding, pleasing, and making of equal taste to the fire deity of the stove. Then, perform blessing and empowerment. For each of the activities, visualize Amitabha, and for all activities, visualize Akshobhya as the crown. Ring the bell, and make it free. Next, place three food vessels in front, reciting: ‘Om Prava Ra Sada Karam Maha Rasmin Pratitsa Svaha’, with this, offer water three times to the first food vessel. ‘Om Maha Rasmin Padyam Pratitsa Svaha’, offer foot-washing water to the second food vessel. ‘Om Maha Rasmin’, add this to all the rest, ‘Anca Manam Pratitsa Svaha’, offer mouth-washing water to the third vessel. ‘Proksha Nam Pratitsa Svaha’, take water from the fourth water with the tip of kusha grass and sprinkle, offering sprinkling and drinking water. ‘Vajra Gandham, Pushpam, Dhupam, Dipam, Naivedyam, Akshatam, Lasyam, Hasyam, Vadyam, Natam, Gitam, Kamam Pratitsa Svaha’, with this, offer the outer offerings. Then, also offer with nectar, praising: ‘Lord of the World, Brahma Lord, Son of the Protector, King of Fire Deities Takkis bestowed, Supreme Wisdom burns all afflictions, Terrifying Fire Deity, I salute.’ Thus praise, and pray for wishes.
