Direct your gaze into the empty space, keeping your mind unwavering. Third, to settle the mind, the knowing, in the present without grasping: Do not cut off the past, do not welcome the future, do not calculate the present. Know that the present is clear and without thought, settle into the uncorrected, natural state without distraction. Fourth, to release the mind, the knowing, into self-liberation: If you are too tense and the knowing becomes scattered and cannot remain, then keep the knowing inwardly focused and outwardly relaxed, settle evenly with undistracted mindfulness. Thus, the instruction to cut off thoughts, these four ways of settling the mind, should be practiced completely in one way of settling the mind. Meditate without distraction for even a moment. If the mind is distracted, you cannot accomplish even your own benefit, let alone the benefit of others. As it is said, the samadhi of an undistracted mind is the path of all Buddhas of the three times, so practice accordingly. When meditating in this way, if the obstacle of dullness arises, straighten your back, grasp your knees with your hands, draw the air up from the three nostrils, and hold it as long as you can. When you cannot hold it any longer, exhale forcefully from all three nostrils. Repeat this again and again, and meditate with your gaze upward. If agitation arises and the awareness does not remain, then instantly visualize yourself as the yidam deity, and from the seed syllable (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) at the deity's heart, light radiates out. Touching all phenomena and beings, they are transformed into light. That light then gathers back and dissolves into you, and you also dissolve into light, gradually becoming smaller and smaller, and gradually dissolving into emptiness. And meditate with your gaze slightly downward. By doing this again and again, dullness and agitation will surely be eliminated. By meditating single-pointedly in this way, various empty forms will appear, such as the clarity of your own mind like a dewdrop, like a mirage, and so on. After thoroughly questioning and examining the instructions, identify without error whatever experiences arise, whether they are sequential or non-sequential, and without acceptance or rejection of whatever appearances arise, settle into meditation. First, be skilled in introducing meditation; in the middle, be skilled in guiding practice; finally, be skilled in identifying experiences as wisdom. Thus, the student's mind should be skillfully guided. Afterwards, at the end of the session, seal it by dedicating the merit to enlightenment, and then abide in a solitary place, free from physical activity, free from verbal expression, and free from the busyness of mental thoughts. Relax and release the three doors into their natural state. If fatigue, boredom, or discomfort arise, rest and rely on suitable sense pleasures to refresh your energy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One should meditate. The Yoga of Cloudless Sky at Noon Second, regarding the Yoga of Cloudless Sky at Noon: The place for meditation is: at the top of a mountain or a wide plain where one can see the vast sky, and where there is no glare from snow or water that could harm the eyes. In such a place, or in a place where one cannot be seen from the outside, such as under the eaves of a house, when there are no clouds or hail, the way to meditate is: in the morning, face west with your back to the sun, and in the afternoon, face east. It is said that one should not meditate at noon. However, it is also said that if there is a vast, cloudless sky to the north, one can face north and meditate. The posture of the body and the gaze are the same as before. The way to settle the mind is: do not think about being here, do not think, do not think about being in that place, but rather place awareness in the expanse of the clear, cloudless sky, and meditate clearly and without conceptualization. At that time, various forms of luminous emptiness may appear in the sky, such as yellow or white lights, like the moon, etc. Do not attach to these appearances as real objects, nor generate conceptual thoughts such as liking or disliking, but rather look at whatever appears with a one-pointed mind. The Ritual of Throwing Second, regarding the ritual of throwing: If, after striving in this way, no appearances or anything else arise, then, as it says in the 'Whispered Transmission of the Wheel of Time': 'The throwing that gathers separately, should be done, should be vigorously performed.' Like this, straighten the body posture well. Do not fix the gaze on a wide area, but rather focus on a single point, so that the two channels of the left and right, through which the karma winds flow, will tighten. Because they are tightened, the other senses will also be tightened, and thus luminosity will arise in the mind. Even Dying During Meditation Brings the Power of Familiarization Third, regarding the fact that even dying during meditation brings the power of familiarization: In general, if one abandons worldly affairs and strives with great diligence to meditate, then one will attain the supreme accomplishment in this very life. As it says in the 'Stainless Light': 'Yogis with diligence, will accomplish it in this life.' If the effort is moderate, then the 'Stainless Light' also says: 'If someone, having entered the path, dies without attaining yogic accomplishment, then, due to their clinging, that is, the power of habit, they will again obtain another human birth.' Therefore, one will also achieve it in the next life. Even if a yogi meditates and recognizes (the nature), but if the diligence is very small, then they will also be reborn. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
