If (you) do not want to have 'mine', then, according to that opponent's view, the dharma that has liberation's 'self' should become without a giver of 'mine', because there is no 'mine'. If (you) admit, then, that dharma should become without 'self', because it does not have a giver of 'mine'. If it does not pervade, then 'I' is established as having the nature of producing actions from its cause and enjoying the fruits of the actions done. Therefore, it is advised to abandon the root of suffering - the view of the perishable collection. The fourth (part) is: the person who seeks liberation should eradicate the view of the perishable collection from its root, which must be done. In order to be liberated from the meaningless cycle of existence. What is the view of the perishable collection? It is (a view) that arises from the previous view of the perishable collection of the same kind as a seed, and has a beginningless cause. Refuting that it is difficult to be liberated merely through empowerment, even if there is self-grasping. The fifth (part) is divided into seven points: not believing in the scriptures without proof; refuting that sins become heavy or light through weighing; even those who have received empowerment possess the real cause of cyclic existence; refuting the other three answers that do not possess (the cause of cyclic existence); refuting that the permanent self produces results; abandoning that if there is no self, there is no memory, etc.; incidentally showing that seeing selflessness is the antidote. The first (point) is: liberation is possible merely through the empowerment of Īśvara (自在天,Īśvara,Lord/The Independent One), because Īśvara himself said so. If this is said, then the scripture that says liberation is possible merely through the empowerment of Īśvara should become not a pure scripture that shows the path to liberation for those seeking liberation, because the truth it expresses is not real, because it is not seen by a valid means of cognition ( प्रमाण ,pramāṇa,means of valid cognition). Because Īśvara proclaims that liberation is possible merely through empowerment, and it cannot be established by pure reasoning that liberation is possible through it. If it cuts off the birth of the empowered person, because the mantra he empowers does not produce sprouts, then the empowerment ritual of Īśvara should become unable to prevent the person associated with you from being born, merely because you (your mantra) cannot prevent the empowered seed from sprouting. If that could be done, then applying sesame oil to the body and burning it with fire, etc., should also become able to liberate the person from cyclic existence, because there is such a fault. The second (point) is: after the guru takes away sins and performs a fire offering, that (person)'s sins will be exhausted, because that person was previously heavy on the scale and will later become light. If this is said, then, moreover, this person who has been offered in the fire, because he was previously heavy on the scale and will later become light, therefore, the fire offering destroys sins. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is not because the weight of your body is the property of earth and water, and a little bit of what existed before has not been eliminated, but because sin is not a weight on the scale. Because sin is not a tangible thing. The third question is: What is the cause of samsara? The wrong view of holding suffering as happiness, and the two, existence and corresponding mind, that arise from it, are the cause of falling into lower realms. Because you have these causes, ordinary beings are born in lower states. An Arhat will not be born in a lower state in an ordinary way, because the mind has been cut off, that is, it no longer exists. This is universal, because these two are the cause of being born there. Being born ordinarily in a lower state, the mind is beneficial to you, because they arise only from this. Even if there is a karmic cause of birth, why say that it arises only from this? The mind is not a necessary entity for the direct cause of ordinary birth for reasons other than you, because they are the karma of the mind that has become your direct cause. A person (Pudgala, Devanagari: पुद्गल, Romanization: Pudgala, Literal meaning: person) who has the power of freedom and has wrong views will be born again, because these two exist undiminished in his continuum. This is universal, because these two are the cause of being born there. The fourth question: Refuting the first argument: The basis for going to other places and recognizing places is the senses. These actions arise from unseen Dharma and non-Dharma. By empowerment, these unseen karmas are destroyed, so the empowered one will not be born in a lower state. These karmas are the collection of one's own merits, not the mind, so for the empowered one, the cause of birth is not complete. If someone says: The senses of ordinary actions born in lower states are seen by the power of wrong views and corresponding wisdom that produce you, and are not produced by the collection of one's own merits, because whether such wisdom is beneficial changes accordingly, and following the collection of one's own merits is not seen. An ordinary person who has received empowerment, why won't these actions of yours be reincarnated again? They should be reincarnated, because these two exist in his continuum. Refuting the argument: If the mind is an action... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
