Because (they) are consistent with the object. As it abides, the phenomenon posited on the mind of its own object, the characteristic of the phenomenon, is the nature of the object, because its meaning is consistent with the object. Generally, it is so, The wisdom that directly realizes selflessness, the characteristic of the phenomenon, is the nature of the mind, because it is the mind that abides in impermanence and other objects. The impermanence of the aggregates of appropriation is the nature of the object, because the way the object abides is posited on the wisdom that directly sees selflessness, so the meaning of what is seen is consistent with the object. Thus, The mind that grasps the aggregates as permanent self, etc., the characteristic of the phenomenon, is not stable in the mindstream, because the cause of confusion is a sudden other condition, deviating from the way the object abides, and your reversal depends on the valid cognition that realizes selflessness, etc. Like the mind of a snake on a rope. The mind that directly realizes selflessness, the characteristic of the phenomenon, is the nature of this mind, because it is luminosity, that is, the mind that directly realizes the abiding of impermanence, selflessness, and other objects. Defilements such as attachment, the characteristic of the phenomenon, are not the way the mind abides, because they arise suddenly in the mindstream from a sudden cause of confusion. Attachment, etc., the characteristic of the phenomenon, even immediately after directly seeing selflessness, has no power to harm, because it has entered a reversed object and has no reliable valid cognition as a support. Therefore, later, one who has completely realized selflessness, the characteristic of the phenomenon, attachment, etc., has no power to directly harm you, because the mind that possesses its own continuum has abided in the nature or state of the ultimate antidote of selflessness. Therefore, a stream-enterer, the characteristic of the phenomenon, although there is the ability to generate a little attachment, etc., in the mindstream, it does not have the ability to abide on the object, even if it does, it is a noble being who has the ability to generate the wisdom of an Arhat who has the ability to harm attachment, etc., and who possesses the essence. For example, wet ground is like fire. If, just as a path without fault arises in a mind with faults, faults also arise in a mind without fault, then the ultimate wisdom that realizes selflessness, the characteristic of the phenomenon, even if you have tried to prevent yourself from being turned by reversed self-grasping, etc., you will not turn back, because you have eliminated all the harms of samsara, and you are the ultimate seeing of the true meaning, and you are the nature or abiding of the mind.

Therefore, even if you strive to prevent it, it will not prevent you, because the mind with self-sufficiency favors the side that remedies faults. Second, it is not certain that faults are completely destroyed by seeing selflessness, just as attachment and anger, although contradictory, cannot destroy each other. If someone asks: Attachment and anger, although the ways of clinging are different, can one harm the other, that is, can they destroy each other? No, because they both originate from the same root of clinging to self, and they become cause and effect to each other. Third, love and so on are also said to be the remedies for hatred and so on. Therefore, it does not want to cut off faults forever. The sutra says: 'Monks, just as wind blows sesame oil, bile turns into butter, mucus turns into honey, and great medicine is the same, respectively using impurity to treat attachment, using love to treat hatred, and using dependent origination to treat ignorance.' If someone asks: It is like that with Dharma as the object and without an object, but love and so on with sentient beings as the object do not completely destroy the fault of hatred, because they are not contrary to ignorance. Generally speaking, all faults have ignorance as their root, and what does ignorance refer to? It refers to the view of self.' Some of the Hinayana scholars of our own school believe that ignorance is an unclear nature, and the view of self is a wrong view, so how can the view of self be ignorance? The view of self is ignorance, because it is directly contrary to the wisdom of realizing selflessness. Ignorance is not an irrational thing, because it has an object and an aspect, that is, a mental factor. Generally speaking, mental factors are in accordance with the mind and have five corresponding characteristics. Ignorance, even if it is consciousness, does not cling to the object and aspect as being true, because it is a reversed consciousness. Therefore, it is reasonable that the view of self is ignorance, because the sutra says that clinging to an aspect that is contrary to the aspect clung to by the wisdom of realizing selflessness is ignorance. The Sutra of the Lamp of the Moon says: 'Then, what is not understanding? It is not making wild guesses about the Dharma as it is.' The Sutra of the Ten Grounds says: 'People with childish minds are blinded by the darkness of ignorance, obscured by the clinging that appears as self,' and so on. If... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
