Since there is no opportunity to see the Buddha directly, the Thus-gone Ones appear as ordinary Vajra Masters, leading sentient beings onto the path of maturation and liberation. Therefore, one should always regard the Lama as the Buddha, increasing the mind that contemplates the qualities of body, speech, and mind, and especially apply strong antidotes to the mind that criticizes faults, and restrain oneself. If one transgresses, one should immediately confess and restrain oneself. If one has faith by examining from the perspective of qualities, it will be the cause of all temporary and ultimate siddhis. However, if one looks from the perspective of having even small faults, then undoubtedly, all siddhis will be lost. In the 'Vajra Heart Ornament' it says: 'Grasp all of its qualities, do not even think of any faults in your mind. If you grasp the qualities, you will attain siddhis. Faults will cause siddhis to be lost.' Examine what to do and what not to do in temporary situations, and then adopt or reject them. The fifth general meaning is to distinguish between what to do and what not to do based on temporary differences, and then adopt or reject them. There are generally three aspects: First, explaining the vows that should not be transgressed, along with their reasons; second, explaining the vows that should not be transgressed, and if one cannot keep them, explaining how to respond; third, pleasing the Lama by distinguishing between what to do and what not to do. First, as the text says: 'If one fears the sin of destroying a stupa, one should not even step on the shadow, what need is there to mention shoes, cushions, and mounts?' This means that stepping on the shadow of the Lama's body, such as treading with the feet, will bring about a fault similar to destroying a stupa. Destroying a stupa is said to be a sin close to the five inexpiable sins. Since one greatly fears such a great sin, what need is there to mention not stepping on shoes, cushions, specific horses and other mounts, and clothes and other items? The 'Illusion Net Sutra' says: 'One should not even step on its shadow, it is said to be like destroying a stupa.' These two explain that the sins are similar. The 'Vajra Heart Ornament', 'Vajra Dakini', and 'Four Seats' also explain it in this way. The faults of these actions are mentioned in the 'Vajra Tent': 'The Lama's umbrella and shadow, shoes, cushions, and pillows, whichever foolish one steps on' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'If you do that, people will fall into the razor's edge.' Moreover, in the Vajra Dakini it says: 'The guru's mattress, shoes, horses, and clothes, etc., all close enjoyments, even the shadow should not be stepped on, nor should one argue. If you do, at all times, you will always be tormented and far from true glory.' Therefore, if due to time and place, it is unavoidable to step on it, then you should visualize lifting it with vajra force and passing from underneath. Second, showing the reason for the vows that should not be transgressed: 'With great intelligence and joyful mind, diligently listen to the guru's teachings. If the mind cannot do it, then explain with words the reason why you cannot do it. From the guru, you obtain accomplishments, heavens, and bliss. Therefore, with all effort, do not transgress the guru's teachings.' That is, a disciple with great intelligence, that is, with wisdom, should not be unwilling to listen to the guru's teachings, but should listen with great joy and acceptance. Not only should you listen, but you should also make great efforts to unite the three doors of body, speech, and mind, and listen and practice wholeheartedly. So, do all the guru's teachings have to be followed completely? What is particularly excluded is that things that cannot be done from a rational point of view, such as burdens that cannot be borne, and unlawful actions that contradict the precepts of the three vows, if you are strongly asked to do these things, then you should fully explain the reasons why you cannot do it, explain clearly, and there is no fault even if you do not follow it. In the Vinaya Pitaka it also says: 'If you say something that is not Dharma, you should stop it.' In addition, in the Sutra Collection Cloud it says: 'For virtuous Dharma, act in accordance with it; for non-virtuous Dharma, do not act in accordance with it.' In addition, Master Manjushri Fame said: 'For non-virtuous actions and words, ask for forgiveness and remain neutral.' In addition, Dharma Lord Sakya Pandita the Great also said: 'If you do not have the qualities of a guru, even if you are a guru, you should remain neutral.' However, you cannot use these as excuses to create distrust and criticism, etc., which is absolutely not allowed. Therefore, apart from things that cannot be done, for all the teachings given by the guru, you should do everything possible to follow them, because by relying on the guru, you can obtain the ultimate supreme accomplishment, as well as temporary --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
