O, Sakya Lama! Through the power of relying on the guru with the three satisfactions, From the Anavatapta lake in the sacred land of India, A hundred million streams of the four tantras Sprinkling droplets of nectar from the whispered lineage, Slowly entered the ocean of your mind. Such a vast ocean of learning, You are the helmsman navigating the great ship of wisdom, Ferrying beings of self and other tenets to the far shore. Such an unprecedented guide is truly wondrous! Like Sadaprarudita and Ratnakara seeking the Dharma, Like Sudhana Kumara practicing the Dharma, Wise one, you relied on many wise and virtuous spiritual friends, Becoming a treasure of the nectar of the profound path. In the vast garden of wisdom lotuses, You, the all-holding sun, the lord of the day, with a smiling face, Shine forth a great array of profound and extensive teachings, Causing the banners of scriptural understanding and realization to bloom. Those with narrow minds, content with the well of a single perspective, Those arrogant and conceited, clad in bones! When they see this boundless ocean of learning, Will they not feel an unbearable sting in their hearts? When they taste this profound path of easily attaining siddhis, This great essence of whispered lineage nectar, Those who deceive themselves with mere common attainments, Will they not wander for a long time in the desolate wilderness? Some fools, ashamed of their lack of wisdom, envy the wise, Saying that this wise one is not truly wise. They eagerly listen to the slanderous words of jealousy. Those unfortunate ones will fall into hell for hundreds of kalpas. Alas! Holder of the Vajra) and others, What can I say with my limited words about the guru who manifests various emanations? Therefore, look at your own mind, which is the true face of the guru. To them, one should say: You relied on seventy-two holy gurus. You absorbed the words and meanings of the ocean of tantras into your heart. You reached the peak of all the wise ones of Tibet. This is how you initially engaged in extensive learning and contemplation! Thus it is said. The way in which you cultivated inconceivable qualities of scriptural understanding and realization in your mind-stream by practicing with one-pointedness, and greatly benefited the teachings and sentient beings. (Third) Thus, by practicing with one-pointedness, cutting off the superimpositions of learning and contemplation, inconceivable qualities of scriptural understanding and realization arose in your mind-stream. The way in which you then took care of fortunate beings and greatly benefited the teachings and sentient beings is as follows: In general, all the teachings of the Buddha, and in particular, the ways in which the immaculate precious tantras appeared are inconceivable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the views of the Holy Land (འཕགས་ཡུལ, Sanskrit: Aryadesa, meaning 'Noble Land'), there are many qualified and different ways to explain them; the ways of translation in the Land of Snows (གངས་ཅན, referring to Tibet); and the respective traditions of the Sakya (ས་སྐྱ་པ) fathers and sons and other Tibetan scholars and accomplished ones, which are neither confused nor incomplete, not just one-sided, but fully explaining all the key points of the complete path through scriptural and logical means, adorned with oral instructions, and thus understood in their hearts. They single-mindedly dedicated themselves to extracting the essence from these teachings, practicing the profound stages of meditation with and without elaboration, and thus, the experiences and realizations spoken of in their respective doctrines arose in their minds. In particular, they had a strong wish from early on to spend their entire lives practicing in a deserted wilderness between Lhasa and southern Tibet. Later, although this wish was not fully realized, they still diligently practiced for a long time in many retreats in Central Tibet (གཙང་དབུས), such as Tsamo Rong Jangchub Dzong (ཚ་མོ་རོང་བྱང་ཆུབ་རྫོང་), the Drak Dzong (བྲག་རྫོང་) of Namkau (གནམ་ཁའུ), and Jya Gyur Dorje Drak (བྱ་འགྱུར་རྡོ་རྗེའི་བྲག་). Usually, except for special occasions such as giving oral teachings and many other Dharma discourses, they would spend at least half a day in meditation, and at night they would only rest briefly at dusk, then immediately engage in pure meditation with the correct posture. Their usual practice was to abide in a state of non-elaboration, and according to external appearances, they would practice the stages of elaboration with four fixed sessions each day. In this way, they extracted the essence of all the profound teachings of the Sakya school, practicing the profound Lama Yoga, the combined inner and outer Lama Yoga, invoking the seventy-two lineage masters (བདག་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ཆེན་པོ་གཙོ་བོར་བཞུགས་པའི་ཡོངས་འཛིན་དམ་པ་བདུན་ཅུ་རྩ་གཉིས་) with the great Vajradhara as the chief, by reciting their names, until a clear and firm understanding of abandoning attachment and receiving the four empowerments (དབང་བཞི་) arose in their minds. Finally, they would abide in the view beyond mind for a long time. Similarly, they practiced the four empowerments of the path in the profound and clear non-duality of the inner and outer generation stages of Hevajra (ཀྱེ་རྡོ་རྗེ), until the luminous appearance of purifying the object to be purified, the means of purification, and the introduction (སྦྱང་གཞི་སྦྱོང་བྱེད་ངོ་སྤྲོད་པ) arose. Finally, they would abide for a very long time in the yoga of the tummo of the completion stage and the great seal of union --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
