He served as the official of Zhalu. Tsalpa's daughter, the female official Dzom. He took Bumpal Shijomu as his wife. In the lineage of names, there were Khenpo Vinaya Holder and Drak Zhonpa. His uncle Drakpa Gyaltsen went to China. The king Olja Du presented him with a crystal peacock-topped ewer filled with wine. He said, "You are the uncle of the evil lineage, so we will also consider you as an uncle." And he bestowed it. Hushi Du became the master of the three regions of U-Tsang Ngari, and served as a hermit. He was the master of the law, holding the second tiger-headed jewel, and universally advanced upwards. The emperor granted a decree that all the monastic and lay communities of the Zhalu Trikor were under his control. The side chapel of this Zhalu Monastery, the Besé Gate on the south side, and the gatehouse on the east side were made into protector chapels. Now, this great road outside the north gate has been opened. The southern army transported wood together. Huge timbers were brought. Skilled craftsmen were summoned from the lands of eastern China and Mongolia. Four large golden vajra tops with jade tiles were built. The four corner side chapels had eaves of jade tiles, adorned with golden vajras. The golden temple had a triple Chinese-style roof. Other places did not have double Chinese-style roofs. Inside, there are countless Sugata statues decorated with one hundred and one colors. In particular, the Besé Gate has the Buddhas of the three times, and the Kangyur in eight thousand one hundred and eight volumes made of gold. In the two western temples, the main deity of one is the Self-Arisen Arya, and the main deity of the other is Vairochana. The main deity of the south is the Buddhas of the three times, the main deity of the north is the Great Sage, and the main deity of the east is the Great Mother. Below that, there are the protector chapels of the Great King Vaishravana and others, surrounded by countless retinues, made of various precious jewels. Four great stupas were erected in the four courtyards. The biographies of the three ancestral Dharma Kings of the past also say that they still wish that this monastery of mine would be like an ocean of Sangha, a longing in their hearts. They wish that many Geshes would gather, a longing in their hearts. For this, the assembly leader of the labor supervisors is very excellent, or considering the power of the great patron's pure intention, the oracle prophesied, "Buton Dharma Lord Translator, you."

Thus, the very essence of all Buddhas of the three times, The precious treasure of all virtues and merits, The sole protector who saves beings from suffering, I prostrate at the feet of the wise and accomplished Buton Chöje. The seventh of the future Fortunate Aeon, the Lord of Dharma, The all-knowing, compassionate one who speaks two languages, The supreme root who cares for all beings like his own children, I prostrate to the regent of the Teacher, the supreme Lama Buton. With the blazing fire of his wisdom, He burns away all the thickets of bad omens, And dispels the darkness in the hearts of all beings, May the root lama be victorious! He who skillfully drives the chariot of the two accumulations, Whose mandala of wisdom and compassion is vast and whose activities are excellent, Whose immeasurable rays of light dispel the darkness of beings' minds, I prostrate at the feet of the lama. In immeasurable aeons, he diligently cultivated the two accumulations, Manifesting the precious fruit of the three kayas, Whose four activities are always perfectly accomplished, I prostrate at the feet of Dharma Lord Buton Lotsawa. Although he fully mastered all fields of knowledge, He adopted the manner of a student, studying grammar, logic, crafts, and medicine, Especially, he studied the meaning of inner science, I prostrate to the All-Knowing Great Pandit of Ngari. Having abandoned what should be abandoned, along with its basis, and gone far away, Although he had fully completed the training of what should be trained, In order to uphold the teachings, he held the vows of individual liberation, both root and branch, And practiced accordingly, I prostrate to him. Having previously purified all defilements of the three doors, Although he had fully completed all the grounds, paths, and fruits, He relied upon the assembly of lineage lamas, And perfected the transmissions, teachings, and empowerments, I prostrate to him. Buton Rinpoche was skilled in both mantra and philosophy. How he bestowed vows upon students, how students became learned, disciplined, and effective in listening, thinking, and debating. How yogis of experience and realization arose. How he possessed the realization of clairvoyance and samadhi in his mindstream. How he had visions of his yidam deity. How he built scriptures, built statues, translated the Dharma, and so on. The activities of each aspect are inconceivable. Just as the rivers of the ten directions, however many, all the drops of water gather into the ocean, so too, however many doors to the Dharma there are, all gather into the one Buton Lotsawa. How vast your activities are, pervading the sky, So vast they are, continuous and ever-abiding, Like competing with the sky itself, The sky cannot bear it and opens up opportunities.
