If it arises from a cause other than itself, it would follow that it arises from no cause, because a cause that has already ceased is a past non-entity. If it arises from a cause that has not ceased, the cause and effect would become simultaneous and mutually existent, and therefore could not be a cause and effect of what is produced and what produces. Although it does not arise from what has ceased and what has not ceased, if it is said that the sequence of cause and effect is such that the fruit arises from the cause that is ceasing, then, in general, this is true in the way that the fruit arises in the conventional establishment, but if it is analyzed with the reasoning that examines the ultimate, then this is also not established, because what is ceasing is also, one part has ceased, one part has not ceased, it is only on that that it is established as ceasing, because there is no ceasing other than what has ceased and what has not ceased. Therefore, it is also not possible for the fruit to arise from the seed that is ceasing. Although other conditions such as water, fertilizer, temperature, and humidity arise from various sources, they are not agents that produce from others that are established by their own nature. Thus, in the mere appearance of conventionality, these things appear to arise from others, which is only an appearance in the face of conceptual imputation. The reason for this is that the seed does not exist at the time of the sprout. The seed and the sprout itself are not the same, because they belong to the sprout and the same continuum. Nor is it other, because it is not other. Therefore, since the seed and the sprout cannot be said to be either one or different, the appearance of the sprout arising from the seed is also merely an imputation. Therefore, when the seed and the sprout are analyzed in terms of their existence and non-existence, the statement that the sprout arises from the seed will also be completely destroyed, because in the ultimate there is no case of it arising from it. If it is thought that it arises from both self and other, because it has the faults of both arising from self and arising from other as mentioned above, and when arising from self and other is negated, arising from both will also be negated accordingly, for example, when the three colors of blue, yellow, and red are negated, the variegated color mixed with these three colors will also be negated accordingly. Furthermore, if it arises from both self and other, it will become not an independent true arising, but an arising that is established in dependence, because self and other
