Although without careful examination, we temporarily accept that a pot exists as a substance, But the so-called 'birth' of a pot is merely labeling the state in which the pot appears as 'birth,' and there is no such thing as a 'birth' that is not a pot. The birth and cessation of a pot, although given names and called the birth and cessation of a pot, are not established separately from the pot and are merely labeled with names, thus they are conceptual constructs. The existence of the pot, and its aging and changing forms, such as old age and sickness, are also merely conceptual constructs. Similarly, the terms 'large' and 'small' are also labeled as small relative to something large, and large relative to something small. Likewise, terms like edge, center, high, and low are similar. The terms cause and effect are also conceptual constructs. For example, seeds are designated relative to sprouts, and sprouts are labeled as effects relative to seeds, thus they are purely conceptual constructs. The past and future are both non-existent, so it goes without saying that they are conceptual constructs. And the present is merely the moment when the past has passed and the future has not yet arisen, thus it is called the present. Because it is a conceptual construct, it is a conceptual construct. Going and coming are also labeled there simply because of the different arrangements of a person's body. Since one cannot lose what one has not previously gained, loss is labeled relative to gain, and gain is labeled relative to loss. Similarly, characteristics, designators, and substrates are not established as substances. For example, a bulging belly, a shrunken base, and a thin neck are designated as the characteristics of a pot, but these are not established as substances for the pot, thus they are conceptual constructs. Designators are also labeled relative to characteristics, so they do not exist as substances. Names, words, letters, and so on are also labeled there simply because a general concept of sound arises in the mind. Similarly, coarse objects such as mountains and houses, and the structure of time, with many moments accumulated, are conceptually constructed as days, months, years, and eons. Support and supported are also established in relation to each other. For example, relative to a house, something like a mountain is designated as the support, and the house is designated as the supported. But in some cases, the house is the support, and the activities of the people living there are the supported. Therefore, they are labeled there in relation to each other.

It is also the same. Roots and branches are also nominally designated. For example, in relation to a tree trunk, its branches are considered branches, but in relation to leaves, flowers, and fruits, the branch itself becomes the one with branches, so it is merely nominally designated. Similarly, branches and the one with branches are also mentally designated. For example, in relation to the whole body, something like a hand is a branch, but in relation to fingers, something like a hand becomes the one with branches, so they are all nominally designated. The meaning of the words is not established, because whatever is compounded is impermanent, and whatever is impermanent is compounded, because the characteristic of reverse relation is incomplete, so the relation of one entity is also mentally designated. The relation of cause and effect is also not substantial, but merely nominally designated. Wealth and owner are also not substantial. For example, gold, silver, etc. are wealth, and the person who controls them is considered the owner, but that person is also employed as a servant by kings, etc. The former owner, such as wealth and king, also becomes the owner. Therefore, these two are also not substantial. Similarly, cause and effect are also nominally designated. For example, the one who makes the pot is the cause, and the pot is the effect, these two are also mentally designated. Similarly, those who go together are also nominally designated. The terms "main" and "retinue," "inferior" and "superior," "clear" and "unclear," and similarly, the benefactor and the benefited, the harmer and the harmed, the signified and the signifier, the relation of characteristic and basis, etc., are all nominally designated. The expressible and the expression are also mentally designated. For example, in relation to the expressible, such as the training, the twelve divisions of scripture are considered the expression, but in relation to the treatises that clarify the meaning of the twelve divisions of scripture, the twelve divisions of scripture also have the occasion to become the expressible. The relation of object and subject is also mentally designated. For example, in relation to the object form, eye consciousness becomes the subject, but in relation to the subject mind and conceptual thought, eye consciousness also has the occasion to become the object. For example, any simile like "like a pot" is also mentally designated, because the pot itself sometimes becomes the meaning.
